More evidence that turnstyle income matters not to a company who have bigger fish to fry than care about a mere football club. Football league where are you?
Seriously????
Did I miss the evidence ?
The CT comments section is so depressing. No matter how much supporters dislike the owners the players out on the pitch are still Coventry City and should get our support.
I think you are underestimating the damage done by 'Northampton' !

It does seem to have twisted and warped some people beyond any sense of reason or rational.
It's not without reason or rational at all. SISU maintained the club were going to stay in Northampton for 3 years possibly 5, what effect do you think that had on thousands of fans, especially the elderly and younger fans. It didn't last that long but peoples mind set and habits changed completely, some people died never to see their team play at home again and many of the kids lost their links. I for one will never forgive this spiteful hedge fund for the damage they caused !
I understand that to an extent, but if you really love the club then surely you could see past that? We've had sh1t owners before - and will again no doubt - but does the badge, the team on the pitch and the history we have been part of following CCFC not overcome what SISU are trying to do to us and our club?
I'm not saying the anger is without reason that isn't what I meant, everyone is angry at what happened. I'm saying because of what happened some people can no longer be reasoned with now and all sense of logic is completely thrown out of the window. Exhibit A see the quote in the first post of this thread, something which should be seen as a positive move is in his mind a negative. Would he be talking like that had Northampton not happened, I doubt it.It's not without reason or rational at all. Personally I think the club is ruined, at the moment I can't see any way back. As someone who didn't follow the club when it was in the top flight it probably doesn't have as much impact on me as others. This!!!
As many of us forecast at the time. Bonds of generations, & traditions would be broken by THAT move. All of them probably feel very strongly the need to go & cheer the team on Saturday afternoons & occasional weekday evenings...but some of the love has been lost. It will take 5-10x as long as we were in Northampton to rebuild that commitment - & some form of success along the way.
Like challenging for play-offs next season at least...then playoffs or automatic promotion...then mid-championship. The committed loyalty would then start to return. Otherwise I fear they will lose it for 10-20yrs!!!
PUSB
So the committed loyalty will come back when there is success? IronicThis!!!

No, I'm not sure it does overcome it.
For some, as Ashdown has said, SISU have broken those links. And those links, that loyalty set in stone, were for the majority formed when we were kids. At our most influenced period during our lives, when everything was surrounded with awe, when adults commanded respect just for being big, we got to walk amongst them. Tripping over shoelaces trying to keep up with your dad through Gosford Street, turning the corner into the terraced streets and seeing the Welcome to Coventry City FC sign. The street sellers looming over you with programmes and badges, grasping your ticket like it was made of gold and going through those big intimidating iron turnstiles. Walking up the steps and seeing that first glimpse of hallowed turf, watching your heroes warming up and praying no-one tall stands in front of you. The delirium when the terrace would erupt around you when a goal went in and the fear of losing your dad in the surge on the way out.
Those days are gone and when that link is broken, for the now grown ups, it's almost impossible to get it back
The idiotic thing is that most of the them go on about Northampton then describe Wasps as well run.
If going to Northampton did so much damage how come 27,306 turned up for the Gillingham game?
It also doesn't account for the number of people who had season tickets for the season just gone who now say they are not renewing. Obviously there isn't an accurate figure for that put there's plenty on here saying that is their position.

Northampton was shite, lets face it and yes maybe damage was done to some supporters but i think the ticket prices are a great statment of intent to bring people back however they need momentum here and do a real fans engagement piece to get more bums on seats. Sadly they will fail on this front but time will tell, If TM is able to bring in his own team(back office included) then people will return.
We need to get over N'ton, its in the past.
