Surely Joe Cole should have stepped up.

Murphy has fluffed so many opportunities of late. Can't see he could have been that confident stepping up for that kick.

Managed to get up for this one. Never looked like he believed in himself, but our penalty record has been terrible this season so surprised we don't have a taker in place.

Colchester haven't been anything special and neither team seems to know what they're doing with the ball in the final third. Difference is we have defended just a bit more poorly and gifted them a sitter. Murphy also got some boos after the miss, can't be relishing the prospect of more games here. Jones looks bright when he gets the ball, but everyone else seems to just stand still when we are in possession and not have much idea of what to do.

It was his fault, it was him he kicked it gently across the floor for the keeper.

No it isn't. The penalty taker is normally agreed prior to the game starting. I strongly suspect that didn't happen here and also we've missed 7 out if 10 taken over the last two years.

Yes it is, it was an awful penalty. He is a professional footballer, they should score every time bar a world class save.

Moncur yet another opposition playmaker outshining John Fleck.

We'll add him to the list.

7 out of 10 pens missed - is that for real??? That is horrific!

Mowbray has used up all his good will now. he'll start next season as manager but if we don't hit the ground running then fans will have his blood

That video they keep banging on at half time is almost as embarrassing as our first half performance. Doesn't get any worse than this.

Tranmere a few years ago probably. They were comfortably top and faded horrendously.

Mowbray had Middlesbrough top on New Years Day twice and on both occasions failed to make the top 6 so he has form for this. Seems he has no idea how to stop a slump.
He needs to buy better quality Xmas cards & presents obviously

...onwards & upwards PUSB

We have the worst penalty conversion record in the league - but yeah it's all murphys fault - actually the Great Depression of 1929 was all his fault as well.

Prick.

Pretty sure Fortune scored a penalty earlier in the season...

The closest thing to a Great Depression round here is you. Prick.

I'd say give him til next Xmas/New year.

If we are up the top, and he starts to falter again, get rid.

87 goals conceded by Colchester... 0 today. We are devoid of ideas and imagination. Lose this and I really will begin to lose faith in Mogga.

I'd stop paying their wages for a few weeks they don't deserve paying for the shite results and performances since xmas

Well Murphy will be back at Norwich soon. I'm sure we will be massively successful post departure.

We'd actually now be in the relegation mire without his goals and assists but hey ho

If he hadn't been playing in the 30 odd games that he's been awful we would have almost certainly done a better accumulation of points purely based on the fact that we would have had 11 players on the pitch.

True. What is also true is he and others have dropped off markedly since New Year.
