Maddison has big impact when he comes on. In front of Pleat :censored:?
Hope he left nice and early, as if Spurs offer anything....guess what. Anyway, I'll try and enjoy the result for now;)

Yep. He's another talent we'll never get to see in his prime. :(

Any particular reason?

Because a PL club will come and snap him up either this summer or next IMO. He's that good and we know how PL clubs like to stockpile players, and they have a bit more money with the tv deal to pay over the odds for young unproven talent. And we have a track record of selling young players.

We would have been in trouble more like. We have been averaging 2 points a game more or less since SP left and we are still only 3 points out of the bottom 3.

Been a good day today. 3 points for us :claping hands: Because of our GD and the amount of teams below us it looks like 1 more win will have us safe. And to top it all off I had the winner of the National at 33/1 :pimp:

How do we know Pleat was watching Maddison? We do have a Spurs loanee, as do Colchester...... Just a thought.

He didn't have to have come to watch him to notice him though :(

will this money be invested in our "promotion push" next season?

Maddison has had a couple of good games in an injury hit season. He's a talent, but let's not assume he's well on the road to stardom like Haynes.

Great game, first time for a while that I'd lost my voice. Two great saves from Burge. Shame we didn't exploit their keepers injury a little more, but the three points were vital. Highlights for me were Stokes, Johnson and obviously Maddison when we came on.

And also the fact that we pretty much looked in control for nearly the whole game. That's a first this season I think.

We weren't at all in control in large parts of the second half. They had 3 or 4 gilt edged chances.

We did nothing until our goal and were shockingly poor most of the game.

Yes Grendel but so did we. We hit the post and bar and missed a few ourselves.

We deserved to win today. We wernt great but we won and deserved to at that so come on give it a rest now. We won a vital game enjoy it.

I am glad we won but Mowbray was hardly upbeat either was he?

Defensively we were ok but against a side that didn't even attack in the first half.

Our keeper was the busiest and without the introduction of Maddison we'd have struggled.

Ward and O Brien worked well in midfield but Barton is still far too lumbering and ponderous and fleck virtually played behind his own goal line.

The two forwards were hopeless.

It wasn't great, I thought we were worth the win but only because Colchester were so poor. Results are all that matter at the moment anyway, we shouldn't have lost to Leyton Orient but we did.
