due to the boxes not being sold

bloke was good to many sorting tickets for matches but he knew the writing was on the wall after poor uptake with corporate

I was told this but also that he Doug took over Monzo negotiations as Tynan had fucked them up.

All in all he just wasn't very good at his job. As a lot on here would attest

Good move by Doug

It looks / feels from the outside that he was basically in his role due to longevity over anything else, and probably willing to accept wages significantly lower than you'd get elsewhere.

It's not true, if it was due to the boxes he would been gone last season.

He was just not very good at most things. He's a remnant of the SISU era when the cheapest option was often taken.

Weird, I said that our commercial team was a bit rubbish on here a month or so ago when we still hadn’t released an away kit a week into the new season and was told I was wrong. Seems like the owner agreed with me.

Wasn't he a keeper originally or have we strangely had 2 Tynan Scopes at the club?

That reminds me. I'm still waiting for some tickets in the board room he offered me about 5 years ago

Awful language to use really, it implies that they don't know what the fuck they're doing and hoping for the best.
They're obviously avoiding saying he's been given the boot for not being up to the job. Not hard to read between the lines. Been lots of negative comments about dealing with him on here over the years, King came in, could see there was an issue, carried out an audit and n
now he's 'leaving'.

Reading the article looks like there's going to be more people coming in. Crazy to think how few people were employed by the club in the SISU years.

That's not Scope is it? Thought we recruited someone as head of retail or something like that and the job description included dealing with Hummel.

Yeah sounds like next up is a proper commercial team.

I guess he looked pretty good when he could virtually give away the boxes etc now he has to sell them for each game he’s been caught out.

I'm shocked Tynan lasted this long to be honest.

He was terrible in each of his various commercial positions and had an untold amount of complaints made against him from key sponsors/commercial partners over the years.

Admittedly I’ve bastardised my point a bit just for a bit of annoying gloating, but my main point at the time is that there is fuck ups every year, be it the corporate pricing, the kids pricing, kits being released at the last minute, season ticket cock ups etc. across the whole commercial department and it was a bit baffling that no changes had been made. Not surprised that King has opted to get rid of some of the deadwood.

Reading between the lines John Taylor has made the call. I assume that they've had to do it properly given his length of service so they'll have had to demonstrate his lack of capability which takes time.

Been saying for years that we have what feels like the worst commercial team in the country. Kit fiascos time and time again, incredibly slow to bring out any new merchandise/items and just let people use the trademarked club badge however they feel. Hopefully fresh eyes gets us 'inline with other Championship clubs'
I went in the club store on a non matchday towards the end of last season and I couldn't believe how many people were in there and how much they were spending. Seems a million years from having a shitty cart at Northampton.

Think the kit launches have gone pretty smoothly as well this year. Everything isn't perfect of course but things certainly moving in the right direction.

Still someones life affected - I remember Tyan dealing with my Uncle about a difficult situation and he came across a decent man. He may have been in the wrong job and quite possibly over his head....but nice thoughts please people..we don't need to be mean about it when most of us wouldn't have a clue.

Reshuffle.

I love those cowardly business words!
Well it's not really cowardly, more professional and an approach that doesn't impact either party too much.

A reshuffle implies they both go in different directions due to the club wanting to work with someone else. It's not as though they want or need to hang Tynan our to dry, he still needs to find a new job and that's always difficult, especially if his previous employer (who he has given a few good years of service to) was to say "We have let him go due to poor performance".

It's a sensible and amicable exit and I wish him all the best. I just hope we go on and bring someone in who can take the club's commercial operation forward.

I am pleased you found him a nice man i on the other hand most definitely didn't. He, in written emails, outright lied to me about something i knew i was right about and ended up passing the buck to someone else. I share zero sympathy.
