Are they?

Even in the years of dross football and playing our football in different Cities I cannot recall such a high amount of incessant whinging from our fans than I have the last couple of weeks

Lets not forget the amount of bile and vitriol that was aimed towards Wright and Simms when they weren't scoring last season and let's not forget the fact we were booed off in our last game

A great fanbase to play for when winning, not when losing
So how else can the ordinary fan demonstrate their dissatisfaction of the product that they've paid for and witnessed?

What do you suggest?

The game has been sanitised enough over the years, I don't recognise the game from the one I watched and played as a kid over 60 years ago.

A good old boo is appropriate imo, there's no need for anything more.

Er of course you can. You take a sub lease from the main leaseholder and an assignment from the freeholder. We currently have a licence and not a lease. I would assume the hotel owner operates on the same basis.

A licence offers zero protection - a long tenancy lease to the main leaseholder does. It’s all ultimately down to negotiation with the leaseholder - it’s far more expensive but if the head leaseholder sells you are then fully protected
I see where your going Grendel but it ain't gonna happen. We need to own the stadium outright. Gain income streams from every aspect, from concerts to parking, to hotel, events etc. Not be at the mercy of others.

Wright would regularly get his name sung each time he missed a gilt edged sitter last season, and that wasn’t uncommon.

Picking up on the other topic in this thread....if we don't win at Watford I sense more meltdowns on here.
It's the expectation the club have set and stated, not the fans. Robin's and co have said it over, we have really good players, King has backed the club, the players each stating they are looking for promotion. That's the inside scoop at the training ground, so they have set themselves up for a big fall if they don't achieve it. So when fans disapprove of performances it's not surprising is it? If they had lessoned the expectation then the fans wouldn't be on their backs so much.
My own opinion is they will perform and get the results that will propel them to the playoffs but auto looks less likely if we don't quickly pick up momentum and get on a run like Sunderland have somehow achieved. Once a team gets away like that the confidence is sky high.

So you've done a complete about-turn on the thread you started? Top work 👏

Spot on. Somehow we haven't learnt that bashing the players after a few games does not and never will work.

Get behind them. Make it a good place to play home games for our own players.

In what world doesn't Robin's walk if Adi was given the boot without his full permission? Zero chance

Facts are none of us know what went on but Mark Robins doesn't stay unless he was fully behind the decision
Robins and Adi were very close for a long time
They are two very strong characters and eventually didn't see eye to eye on several matters
Only one winner in that situation

I once knew a girl who I adored and she adored me and took care of me when I was very poorly.

I owe her so much.

But we stopped loving each other like we did and we became more like a brother and sister and eventually we both walked away because it wasn't what we wanted anymore.

Life is good for me now and I hope she is happy in her life too.

I reckon life is full of relationships that were once great and fulfilling but aren't anymore.

Its sad but it's a fact.

Suspected as much, would be interesting to know if their was a specific breaking point or more just a gradual shift in ideologies that did it. I guess we'll never know. Some of the mad conspiracies on here were laughable

Winning at Watford isn't essential at all

What I am suggesting is booing us off after a 1-0 defeat by Norwich, a fairly decent Championship side is probably a bit dramatic

Well Hobo I didn't say it was?

But you did say if we don't win at Watford you can see more meltdowns on here, so I was addressing that train of thought.

There is literally zero chance Robins would let Adi get the boot from under him without kicking off.

He would have had a massive say in the decision. Mad to suggest otherwise.

Time will tell if it was a good decision but it's been 6 games which is far to early to say.

Fun fact though pretty sure we have done better in the first 6 games under this new staff than we did in the first 6 when when Adi first joined
Maybe there was a transgression which sort of took it out the hands of Robins, and the club had no choice, who knows

Could be, if that's the case then he deserves it. Still think there is zero chance Robins would let it happen unless a) he wanted it to b) something bad happened c) Adi fancied a change

If Adi had fancied a change I would suspect the club would have wished him well

I used to be really proud of our fan base …. Through good times and bad …. Now some are totally embarrassing ….

we have a new owner that removed the parasite that was Sisu, we have spent millions on and off the pitch , we are once again a modern club with ambition …. And yet some fans boo King because we didn’t sign 33yr old free agent Marty James …

you couldn’t make it up …

entitled or stupid or both ….

I can’t decide ……

They are in a minority - I think most of us agree that we are in the best position as a club since we left Highfield Road - atmosphere is great - crowds are up - visits to Wembley every couple of years - realistic chance of a play-off place every season - cracking new kits and generally entertaining football and a club that is respected throughout the football pyramid & national media!
Doug King - Mark and his staff should be very proud of the job done so far and I have a feeling it’s going to get even better in the next few years.

They are just a bunch of pathetic childish twats, who want the moon on a stick. They remind me of the petulant 6 year old throwing a temper tantrum in the middle of the Tesco sweets aisle because they cannot have a bag of jelly babies that would last all of 2 minutes…saying they ‘hate’ their mum/dad whilst conveniently forgetting that they are the ones who feed, clothe and put a roof over their head!

Honestly blown out of proportion. Some coke head fans booing a Doug King song.

Personally, a football club owner shouldn’t have a song but whatever. Some of the minority fans booing couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery let alone run a business (and a football club is a business). What happens on the pitch is down to the manager, coaches and players.

Leave King to run the club as a business because we’re a million miles on from when Sisu were here.

I understand everyone has an opinion which they want to voice and that is why we have forums like these where lively debate can be had.

But we do not own the club, our investment is our love and support, buying tickets and kits etc… we do not have millions our our own wealth tied up in the club. Yes Doug is rich, but he‘s not Jim Ratcliffe rich, he will not have a bottomless pit of money to keep dipping into. So we have to have limits, a plan for how we can progress towards our goals in a sustainable way. It seems to me this is being done, both on and off the pitch, we should be really happy with where we are now as a club compared to our previous position. Yes of course if Doug had billions perhaps He could subsidise a loss making club to the tune of 10’s of millions, but I doubt he has that kind of wealth.

Is this a business for him that he will ultimately want a return on by selling? Most likely.
Should we as fans worry about this? Absolutely not, our goals and his are currently aligned. Ie. Getting back to the premiership and increasing the value of the club.

If he chooses to sell within 5 years if we get back to Prem I would much rather he feels a strong bond with the fans, who he can see respect what he has done and acknowledges that with the occasional singing of his song. As opposed to viewing us as a vitriolic, booing, unappreciative group that doesn’t like him. One of these views would ensure he just sells to the highest bidder, the other may put the future of the club as a priority. I know which I would prefer.

More bed wetting, we have played 6 matches this season won 3 drew 1, lost 2. The manager tells us he couldn’t cope with the old system as it puts too much on him and he needs a team to do that. That has been supplied just give him chance for it to bed in.
Played 6 matches?
Now you’ve spoiled the Swansea game for me

That song is the most pathetic nonsense I've heard.
And it was obvious it would become divisive at some point.
People getting upset because it got booed, fuck me!

Either entitlement or stupidity …. It’s certainly not support, ambition or gratitude …..

Gratitude? Honestly, I can't think of any club that sings about it's owner, it's embarrassing.

As people are so fond of saying on here, he's a businessman, and the level of sycophancy towards a businessman is frankly weird.

Also, how many people were booing? Because I didn't hear it though my mate did and I only knew it happened because he mentioned it, so it could just be my hearing.

But the root cause of this is starting that stupid song in the first place.

Do you honestly think King gives a shit if some people boo a corny crap song about him? I somehow doubt he's that sensitive

There was the same sort of weird sycophancy around SISU when they first arrived as well.
