Got into my granddaughter's school via a nurse doing the flu a couple of months ago.
Ha.

Does surprise me that the people doing the vaccinations aren't the first people to get it, I must admit. Imagine catching it while being vaccinated against it, that'd be Greek tragedy levels!

Left hander here ,
My work left handed ,eat right handed, play guitar right handed (only one song)
Left footed 🙄
I’m right handed but only write right handed, do everything else left handed. I’d say I’m right footed but my football playing skills would leave you to think I had two left feet. Coincidentally Mrs Skybluetony176 is left handed but does everything bar write right handed. We were made for each other.

I thought they'd been moved to Priority 1 now so they should be, that said it's not instantaneous and the roll out will take ages. Those working at test centres are not NHS staff either

So we have a curfew, France has a curfew, parts of Germany has a curfew. Austria, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Czech, Slovakia similar versions of a curfew.
So had badly would UK react to a notion of a curfew or is it so unpalatable that it would never be considered?.
Also a bit of context our numbers of new infections have halved as a result

I am right handed but everything else left handed, like golf and cricket etc. It's fucking awkward sometimes.

I sometimes do the other stuff left handed as a treat so it feels like it isn't me doing it. Would be better if I had a little beadle hand though.

What time is it? Round here the streets are pretty deserted beyond 7 o'clock. I'm not sure I follow the logic of squeezing the time in which people can use the supermarket for example. I

Yeah i don't think Curfews work. As you said you you just end with more people in the same place at the same time.

Everything bar pharmacies and petrol stations have to close by 7. No congestion in shops people just plan their days differently.
Curfew 8pm until 5 am - only exceptions work (inc food delivery) and medical matters. Tbh it's cold enough now that people aren't hanging around anyway. But it's also to stop parties, gatherings in people's houses etc.

as i said though are our numbers of new infections have halved after about 2 weeks of a curfew starting - seeing the impact over last few days. Deaths still comparatively high though - around 1000 a day in UK population terms.
But will be a slight relaxing for Xmas for gatherings in people's homes but New Years Eve "cancelled".

The UK govt data is utterly useless, the test and trace system is pathetic. By now there should be a pretty reliable reporting of where people with they virus had been to help people risk assess but still fuck all.

An interesting piece about a test and trace worker. I did think about applying to do it myself but I think I would be sacked off within the hour, assuming I woul be able to get hold of someone to speak to in that time.

I did wonder because the holyhead were booking out their new little outdoor huts but I think that was on the premise we get dropped to tier 2 today

i think if we are in tier 2 the pubs will be open.

I think the xmas rules deal with indoor mixing in private homes. Other rules depend on the tier you are in

No, not that any pub is seriously going to open for a few days only anyway

Fuck sake, if it's outdoors what will the punters do about their toms with no socks combination? Far too chilly.

Tier review announcement put back to tomorrow.

Someone is kicking off then

I was reading yesterday or day before that the review was going to be today, with release of info tomorrow (not sure if they’d always planned to release info in this way though)

Checked the website. Don’t think it’s been updated yet (except London added to T3)

I don’t disagree with a lot of what you are saying here but a free points to add.

Starmer may be trying to entice that soft-Tory vote which he will definitely need if he was to get a majority, but at what cost? Disaffect the people like BAME voters, the young, those that can’t get on the property ladder by being utterly absent in fighting for what they want?
These people make up a huge party of the party activist machine.

So far Starmer has suggested he wants to row back on half of his pledges and indicated he has little interest in things like UBI for example. Ambivalent about really pressing issues during the Cov-ID pandemic (keeping school safe, protection for renters)

Centrism as you call it was responsible for pushing the PV agenda which ended up with Labour getting a beating - and now we put our trust in this going forward?

The ‘far left’ agenda would have been far more likely to have honoured the vote, and savedus quite the hammering (although I accept the toxicity of Corbyn’s image would have still resulted in defeat, even though it is utterly unfair)

I joined the party because it had an identity.... I’m struggling to see it now.

The party activist machine don’t win elections. Party members in both parties tend to be dingbats who have no idea how to win elections.

Not unfair. That being said, both parties are pandering more and more to their members recently. Tories have got away with it more, so far... but what happens if and when they both go full mental?

You have a point about Labour members setting an agenda completely out of touch with the Labour voting demographic on Brexit.

so what's this latest missive from our leader?
Bubble extended to three house holds but are tiers still going to be in place so tier 3 pubs will still be shut over Christmas?
