Why?You know why he hasn't done it yet.
Yup. The ridiculous thing is, if people were ordered to wfh, and they were worried about transmission, people could have stayed where they'd sodding ended up at Christmas rather than moving around the country again. And what's the point of letting a load of people back in for a couple of days, just to mix it about a bit?!?"tough tough lockdown is coming"
Why not just fucking do it now then dickhead so people know where they are? How can people plan for Tier 4 to then have to change again next week.
It's really pissing me off now.
Why?
Don't know how he keeps a straight face coming out with stuff like that. From the start they've been behind, they implement things when the pressure gets too much and they have no other choice. Another prime example now where it looks like schools are going to be closed as local authorities, unions and staff take the lead while the government and opposition spend weeks insisting schools stay open.According to Matt Hancock in a Sky interview the government has often being accused of acting too quickly.
Lockdown is a rubbish term anyway, can mean anything. Even in our first lockdown we weren't subject to restrictions in the way some other countries have been and the most recent lockdown was even looser. Most of the country is in tier 4, what is the practical difference between restrictions in tier 4 and those in the last lockdown?"tough tough lockdown is coming"

The man who described infecting care homes with Covid-19 as "throwing a protective ring around them". Total toss pot.Don't know how he keeps a straight face coming out with stuff like that. How much better prepared would we be for school closures if everyone knew this was happening before the end of last term when it was being called for.
They’re not even getting pressured to do things by the opposition. Although I assume that Daniel Hewitt, ITV political correspondent, is taking the piss when he said Starmer has called for zoos to shut.

Ever since the leadership election, I've been thinking he's the kind of Tory I could handle being in charge. We're at a point where Jeremy Hunt sounds like the most sensible Tory
Absolutely, stop people coming in to the country. Police it properly and let's actually deal with it.If you are going to lockdown again you've got to make sure it is enforced otherwise too many people will continue to flout rules with no punishment.
France, Spain et al had police and possbily the army asking questions of leaving the house and people having to prove they were going to the supermarket/exercising/work.
I have no problem being under a marshall-like law and proving my innocence when asked if it helps curb the sread of the virus and keep the R number down.
I know - it’s scary to think he was the guy that wanted to butcher the NHS to pieces when Health Secretary and now he sounds sane. We're at a point where Jeremy Hunt sounds like the most sensible Tory

I fear you maybe right, no-one wants to live in some sort of Orwellian 1984 police state but these numbers that are just going through the roof , well something drastic has to be done.If you are going to lockdown again you've got to make sure it is enforced otherwise too many people will continue to flout rules with no punishment.

It's a mockery isn't it? Lots of things being exposed for the sham they always were.TaKe BaCk CoNtRoL...

Its all well and good saying more restrictions are on the way but don't we need to have a think about where the infections are happening. Is it people who are sticking to the current restrictions or people who are ignoring them or pushing them to the absolute limit?I get confused by what are essential shops I went past Carpetright and it was open. Places like garden centres should be shut.
Interesting thread about the one shot vaccine risk

How low have we sunk!

This time next year Rodney.Regardless of political persuasion, does anyone on here still have any faith in the Government to see us through this crisis ?
After the initial jubilation on the announcement that highly effective and safe vaccines had been found and that they were already manufacturing multiple millions of doses, does anyone still believe we will be getting back to anything like normal any time this year ?
What are people’s real thoughts on when we will actually start to make some real headway against the virus and ultimately return to normality ie: hospitality open, large gatherings, easy international travel etc ?

Oh FFS, a Snail making a late escape bid from a saucepan moves faster than Boris thinks, watching him trying to think on the spot is painful.According to Matt Hancock in a Sky interview the government has often being accused of acting too quickly.
Yes Matt, if I had pound for everyone who said you'd acted too quickly I'd have fuck all.
Yes that seemed to be the general consensus ‘but do you still believe it ?That Powis guy reckons the summer for that
Saw something that said if we continue to roll out the vaccine at its current pace, it will take 7 years to get everyone vaccinated (interesting - but caveat that vaccine only just becoming available)Yes that seemed to be the general consensus ‘but do you still believe it ?
