It is true though.

You can’t criticise others and then bring up comments from a wum like him

It was in response to a post about why are so many TFL workers dying from this virus, I gave the reasons why and linked to an article, all hell broke loose and suddenly I was being called all sorts.

I have been critical of the government many times during this, poor decision making from the start of this crisis. I affiliate with no party, I'm liberal thinking in some ways, gay marriage etc, and quite conserative on other issues, for example immigration. I didn't vote this election due to the poor choices of leadership, but I've warmed to Boris as he seems to truly want to make great things happen. As soon as Corbyn came out and gave his pronouns, he became unelectable for me. We need a strong leader and an even stronger leader of the opposition to get the best out of the leader. Both Johnson and Corbyn failed in this regard for me.

If you don't agree with my criticism of Kahn that's fine, but too make out hes the only target would be disingenuous.

Strong leadership comes in many forms, it doesn’t have to just be the Alan Sugar model from the Apprentice.

Strong and good leadership should be about leading by example, having a good moral compass and being brave enough to say and act in the right way, which may not always be the popular way.

Total Madness would have been to do nothing, countries that made tough decision quickly like Hong Kong, Singapore, Russia have saw few cases, countries with dithering politicians have saw huge amounts of cases.
Mmmm Russia will be the next usa

russia? wtf are you on about i was clearly talking about hong hong and singapore

Russia was included in my post which also included HK & Singapore, but you ignored that and cherry picked the other two.

I picked Hong Kong and Singapore for a couple of reasons, dealt well with the virus, saw few deaths etc, also relative in size to London both area and population wise to London, so similar densities. Remember what I said about using your brain....

What qualifies me? I have no qualifications but I have a brain, I know if you have highly infectious people, it's best to keep them away from the healthy ones. You don't need to spend 7 years doing a medical degree to have that 'brainwave'.
So really your beef should be with the experts then who advised him and probably did study for 7 years doing a medical degree that didn’t have this brainwave. No idea why you’ve singled Khan out.

The main difference aside form Germany seems to have been countries that are quite socially compliant and have dealt with a virus outbreak before have done well.

I really think it’s far too early to be declaring winners and losers though.

It's weird how she's disappeared. Her comments about unskilled workers could be part of the reason

That is exactly the reason.

They know that as soon as she is put in front of press and public she will be bombarded with questions about how it turns out the unskilled workers she was so keen to get rid of are actually key workers.

Like when you posted an opinion piece from the Daily Mail to back up one of your opinions?

This is why you need a strong person with broad shoulders to make those tough calls.
You mean like Boris “shake hands with people who have it and go and visit your mum on Mother’s Day” Johnson? How’s that working out for him?

I think a lot of the debate around “experts” misses the fact that each is an expert in a field. But politicians have to weigh all fields and decide. The medical opinion may well be to shit everything down immediately but the economic may be the opposite, the exact balance is down to the politicians.

Also anyone who has given professional advice to management knows damn well it isn’t as simple as you say it and they follow it. Half the time you’ll censor the range of things you’ll suggest as you know how they’ll be taken.

Russia gave everyone a week of work paid so everyone went to the Black Sea for a holiday. Not sure you can believe any information coming out of Russia anymore than you can believe any of the information coming out of China.

James O’Brian dear me

To be fair I was saying to someone yesterday that the US sending us 200 ventilators would be bizarre (if true). James O’Brien is an intelligent guy and no doubt would consider trump to be a liar, yet has jumped on a classic Trump deflection tactic (don’t look at New York which is up against their/breaching their ventilator capacity as stated by their governor, the UK are more desperate !)

I hope we are exploring all avenues in relation to ventilators but I wouldn’t trust a word trump says and I’m surprised he has (well I’m not as it suits has stance regarding the government/EU). Also I don’t know enough about what the EU scheme has produced to date (or what is due to be produced), when they would be available and how they would be split between the nations, so hard to comment. If there are hundreds that are available for us now now or when we are due to peak and we are over our capacity then it’s a major government fuck up.

Last thing I saw the EU have their own problems with disagreements on financial deals for stricken countries. But I have no idea what the procurement scheme has done.

One thing that is absolutely clear is the disparity in the way the virus and it’s consequences are being
Reported in this Country, for weeks I’ve been watching sombre doom laden news bulletins of almost
apocalyptic proportions from Italy and Spain.
In contrast the reporting of our own battle with the virus (despite worse numbers) is noticeably more
Positive and the slightest glimpse of even the most unlikely ‘green shoots’ are pushed and peddled
With real vigour and determination.

Yes- we had more deaths yesterday than Italy ever reported even at its worst time, yet we were told "Boris Johnson can now sit up in bed"

Apart from the EU bit what is it that you don't agree with?

As you say there is no procurement EU service, the US purchase is a US order placed some time ago - so it’s ironic James is now taking Mr trumps word as gospel and what’s more likely is he’s cancelling the orders as it seems is happening bwrerrn turkey and Spain - and other than Germany every country is short - regarding scrutiny that’s the job of real journalists at the daily briefings - perhaps he can get in and out forward a question

The likes of Patel and Rees-Mogg shouldn't be in prominent positions if every time there's a spotlight on the government, such as now and the election campaign, they have to be hidden away.

Rees Mogg has to be hidden, I think he'd be lynched if he showed his face after it emerged that his company (15% ownership I think) will make billions off the back of other peoples' suffering.

Patel is a total mystery, she's just disappeared completely and only tweets the odd "stay at home" stuff, which is usually responded to by a torrent of abuse along the lines of "where are you"

So you question Dom’s mental health and that he shouldn’t look at fault death figures and then quote daily death figures

Brilliant
