Just back from shopping and whilst some people think the arrows on the floor mean everyone apart from them, I'd say on the whole people seem to have found a new level of respect for each other in and out of store (apart from on this thread of course). I'm not naive enough to think post Covid it will continue, but still nice to see.

The terrorism aspect was not the main reason for me posting it.

The point is they are claiming it's a Good Friday despite almost two thousand people dying in two days. It's incredibly crass and insensitive.

And regarding road deaths, more people have died in the last two days from Corona than in the last year from road accidents so not sure what your point is there.

This is the point. You can say all that, then someone in Labour might ask if you’re ok with terminally ill cancer patients being told they’re ‘fit to work’ and therefore having their benefits cut; and then they might ask you if you’re ok with people dying at a weight of about 6 stone because their universal credit was sanctioned as they were deemed not ill enough to not work.

Then you might get asked if you’re ok with the U.K. being the only western country to have shown a decline in life expectancy in the last few years, during which time your party has been in sole power. And it might be pointed out that whereas this Labour idiot said something nasty, your party has actually done things to kill its own people.

You’re looking for a pissing contest, and when the object of the competition is who can place less value on human life, I think you can tell what kind of society we are turning into.

Now are you still gonna give it the moral indignance all one way, or are you gonna concede that it’s not just the Labour people that have something of a chequered track record?

You are the one missing the point. I don't know, nor do I care, who 'Mr Evans' is.

I'm talking about The Sun's front page. I don't care about the guy who tweeted it, or what message he tweeted with it.

I'm saying it's incredibly crass and insensitive to call today a good day because one person got some good news while almost a thousand died.

You will disagree with that I am sure. Boris recovering is good news, but it is not a good day when just under 1000 people died from the virus he has recovered from. I really don't know how anyone can argue with that.

Aside from all the usual bickering, I fail to see how this can be denied. Very good news about Boris, but enough to call a day where a thousand people died a good day? Fucking hell there are some very sick people on here
