Worst bit of this for me is the media ignoring all the positives at the moment.

The WHO saying a second wave is now really unlikely. The plummeting figures and good news stories now coming from around Europe. The scientific evidence showing the virus is all but dying out.

Why arent they asking questions about this? Why are they not asking when people can see family again? Is it true that due to the above reasoning that we can get back to normality faster than thought?

No its the same question about cummings. Pathetic

Because it’s not true?

The WHO warned about a second peak just yesterday: World Health Organization warns of 'second peak' in areas where coronavirus is declining

2004 new infections

134 deaths

Numbers encouraging, fingers crossed there is no bank holiday lag that means tomorrow's go in the opposite direction.

So the bloke drove miles away and people are losing their shit but never had an issue with paramedics mingling on a bridge with the public in their hundreds?

I don't get it.

Because the guy who was partly behind the message "stay at home and isolate if a member of your household had symptoms" decided that he didn't fall under his own advice and was allowed to make a decision based on instinct. As if he was the only person with a small child with an ill member of the family who was concerned about if they'd be able to take care of him.

Then there is the fact they have family 5 miles away who are in a lower risk category. Plus the dates just happen to co-incide with his mum's and wife's birthdays.

Plus his (or at least Johnson's) argument is he did it to prevent the spread of the disease. How the fuck does travelling the length of the country with the intention of putting a member of a household with suspected covid into another household stop spreading the disease?

Plus his wife writing about how ill he was when in fact they were out and about.

And that the Barnard Castle trip was called a fabrication and untrue at the time before Cummings admitted they'd gone there

Then there's the idea that it's acceptable to test your vision by going for a drive.

But you keep on harping on about those ambulance drivers :emoji_rolling_eyes:

Side note, I’m seeing adverts for dates with sexy milfs who want action now on here. I was sure to use incognito mode. Nick?

Interestingly I thought public trust in the media from both left and right was at an all time low but as soon as theres a story that suits a narrative people gobble it up like a fat kid at a buffet. I'm in no way saying I'm immune to this btw, just an observation...

No, the idea trust in the media is declining was more fake news from the Tories to distract from criticism: No, trust in the media has not collapsed because of coronavirus | YouGov

He's the Brexit Bogeyman, they've been gunning for him from day 1 and now he's been caught with his trousers down and the press smell blood. I'm 50/50 on whether he'll stay or go.

Except for all the MP’s t gf at campaigned for brexit, Papers that have been campaigning for brexit for decades and untold amounts of political commentators that argued for brexit turning on him. The only people making this about brexit are the cult brexiteers who put brexit above all else, including the deaths of 46k people through inept government that really shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone now given the tissue web of lies they’ve conducted to save Cummings. It’s truly shameful.

Nick Ferrari’s LBC phone-in gave me a chuckle this morning, one of the calls went something like this:

Ranting Caller: “The account Cummings gave yesterday was a pack of lies, we know that because he’s already a PROVEN LIAR!”

NF: “OK, how do we know that?”

RC: “Because he put the £350m on the side of the bus of course!”

NF: “Ok, respectfully, may I ask whether you voted remain in the referendum?”

RC: “well… yes, I did”

NF: “And again respectfully, do you think that your position on Brexit might be influencing your judgement on this matter?”

RC: “errrr… yes”

Laugh? I nearly choked on my scrambled eggs and smoked salmon.
Warburton toast and half tin of beans more likely

If this persists as a news item for another week he will go - he should have resigned anyway - he’s placed his puppet in a very difficult position

The anger though is more at the individual than the crime

Fixed for you

As an employee if I brought my employer into disrepute the way Cummings has there is zero chance I'd still be in a job.

Well you would if you were still of some use to your employer

There is a worldwide pandemic and all I can hear is an echo of right and left wing.

Cummings is a twat and should be sacked. I think there is one maybe two people arguing the opposite. That's it.

I'm surprised people are highlighting that this story isn't going away. Of course it won't if you keep talking about it!

And it shouldn't go away until he's gone. If he doesn't it's telling them they can literally do whatever the fuck they like and get away with it.

Has he been on the Aldi plonk again? The heat and a high rise flat balcony in the sun must be very problematic to be fair

Britain set for HOTTEST SUMMER ON RECORD. Temps set to be higher in the UK than Spain, Greece and THE SUN.
The Sun say that every year around this time. If it happens they say told you so, if it doesn’t they say we’re having an Indian summer, if that doesn’t happen keep quiet until next year.

I'm afraid they already think that.

If it wasn't such a serious topic this whole Durhamgate scandal would be laughable.

I would like to think I have a decent amount of common sense (debatable), and even I cannot take what they say seriously anymore.

Next door is having Eurovision parties, Dominic fancied a jolly. Why can't I invite a couple of hookers round?

Of course it is. It was inevitable after the events of the last few days. Lockdown is totally unenforcable now as 'instinct' is apparently an excuse to do what you like. The government have absolutely fucked it, they value Cummings over Public Health Guidance.

Exactly.

I've said before that sometimes it is hard for me to accept home prison as for my age I am unlikely to end up in trouble with it. I follow the rules to protect those around me that might be more vulnerable.

This whole thing makes me feel like what's the point. We are a complete laughing stock as a country.

Because your name isn't Kyle Walker....

Besides you could. You can let people into your house for employment purposes.

I like the idea of Dom's Jolly.

"WHAT? I'M AT BARNARD CASTLE. IT'S RUBBISH! NOT THE PLACE - MY EYESIGHT!"
