Exactly. I'm sure our own Russia report will throw up some interesting stuff if it ever gets published.
This isn't about overturning results this is about minimising influence in the future.

Though when they refuse to publish the report and when Cummings refuses to appear before the select comittee you have to question why?

Social media is here to stay. We have to minimise how it can be used nefariously.

We fortunate in that the Mueller report uncovered a lot of the stuff that had been hidden. As you say, we might never see the report over here but that has forced the social media companies to start taking some action at least.

It’s just another excuse to hang your hat on

Russia have always made grandiose claims about an ability to control of influence people - Well before social media - they are a faded power and its the only way they can pretend they have influence

If you keep that bunker mind set you’ll never win anything

I'm just arguing it exists because some people thing Its a crackpot conspiracy theory.
If you do then you're saying the US Senate is wrong and the government called an enquiry (led by a senior Tory who's name escapes me) and Facebook are rewriting their algorithms for nothing.

It's important we get to the bottom of it because even, as if you say, Russia is a busted flush, it could be another outside actor .

Even if it’s not Russia, you can’t deny that there are an abundance of active bot accounts out there.

Summed odd the other day when they said the R was 0.7 - 1 but were planning to open schools and shops. I’m sure previously, when setting out the road map of steps, the R was the same and they said we can’t do anything yet as we’re too close to 1? (Which also seems obvious).

There was of course the sensational revelation the other week on here of fake NHS accounts which were created by the government - what happened to that exclusive?

We are planning for some contact with exam classes from the 15th but nobody else. If they want others then they need to give us fair time to make the adjustments needed

“You can’t compare countries” etc

I remember months ago saying we were on the same curve as Italy, it was derided by some and ignored by many. We followed their curve for weeks then went beyond it.

It's just shocking.

It's indefensible. I don't know how anyone can defend this government's response to the pandemic.

Yet still they do.

Would like to hear Grendel and Dom.s thoughts on that link.

"Would you rather be in Italy?"

Wait is this the alternative SAGE? In which case it will just be dismissed as partisan interference?

Can't be, it's very purpose is to be non partisan.

It was set up when it was discovered how many of the sage panel are government employees

But Boris, Gove and the rest of the poor man’s Diane Abbott’s that make up the government these days assured us it was safe. Mind you they’re also trying to pretend that going for an hours drive with your four year old in the back to test your eyesight is a good idea so this report shouldn’t surprise anyone. Well, maybe except Dominic Cummings as he can’t see anything sneaking up behind him at the moment.

It’s fine if you want to keep believing Russian accounts are the reason results go against you and not the weak strategy and debate

If you were being cynical you would suggest that the reason that the number of tests done hasn’t been reported due to “technical issues” in the last few days was because the R rate is in fact rising when number of tests done to number of positives tests are compared. If you were being cynical that is.

Wow, can't believe you're that naive to not realise how widespread they are.

Again I’m not saying it was the reason. My original point was that it was one small factor.

It’s fine that you want try and distract from it because it makes you uncomfortable and that you want to do the job hundreds of young people are paid to do in Russia for free and trot out various distractions and half truths on social media.

Debate? How do you explain Boris’ election win then. Given he didn’t debate are you saying it was down to Russian bots? Sounds like it.

I have been thinking about it and if he really wants to I’ll invite him along to Greece in July. Just me, him and sunsets on the beach, an informative tour of Knossos and all the ouzo he can lay his hands on.

If it doesn’t go ahead, we can row along the canal in Coventrian’s dinghy.

It's not about believing they changed a result. It's about stopping outside interference ,(something that was high on leave voters agenda apparently).

Would you just brush it off if Labour won the next election and it was proved there had been Chinese interference even if you believed the Tories had ran a bad campaign and had a poor manifesto?

If we're not careful parties will be tailoring policy to suit outside actors (Though some might say with the Tories reluctance to introduce something akin to the Magnitsky act they're doing that already).

You have to wonder if the spike in April in Durham was down to a couple of visitors they had at the end of March

Perhaps wales is down to Mr Kinnock

Possibly. Though it appears his visit was short and he maintained social distancing.
He didn't drive to a local beauty and wasn't displaying symptoms so no way he presented the same level of danger.

Perhaps ducks are dolphins
Also Stephen Kinnock has never been suspected of having covid-19.

Facts are not that tramps friend

Also the there was a weird look to the outbreak in south wales with a younger icu demographic but that is more likely to be the stereophonics concerts.
