Haha, I’d heard that’s probably why they are both still in their positions (oh, and Williamson knows where the bodies are buried from his time as chief whip)

My daughter began her online lesson‘s today, English, Maths, Guided Reading and back on at 2-15 for Science, it’s all gone really well and she’s loved it and I think it’s really helpful to have a regular time frame for lessons, makes it all the more well  schooly.
Yer, same for my son. The structure of the day is more familiar to him.

During a time when we’ve stripped regulations on all kinds of important stuff like education of vulnerable children, surely we can skip the fucking deradicalisation training?

Should be one module with the bare minimum in if anything.

Surely quite difficult to spot the signs of radicalisation in a two minute vaccination in any case, unless the child comes in wearing military fatigues wearing an AK47

Pleased that it's going well, do feel free to pass on to Mr G. Williamson

What would be the consequences of treating this year retrospectively as a paused year and repeating the programme next year?

And the diversity & equality nonsense can be deleted. What the hell has that got to do with giving an injection?

A lot of people, myself included, had to switch last years holiday to this year, otherwise I'd have lost all of my flight money. Well over a grand. Getting prepared to do the same this year.

Can’t you just wait until they cancel it? Then they have to give the money back. That’s what we did.

My wife is a nurse and didn’t like it the first time around and if we had curtains would have closed them. All she wants is more money (as we all do) and a health secretary that has a brain and support from above.

You mean she doesn't want somebody to clap for her while taking pictures for social media to get likes while trying to outdo each other on how much they love the NHS?

Flights never got cancelled mate. We booked hotel and flights separately. Hotel cancelled on us and gave us a full refund and a discount if we rebooked for this year. We changed our flights with Sleazyjet to this year. Astonishingly the flights had miraculously gone up in price, and it cost us a couple of hundred quid more.

It just a way to mask some of the things that are going on.

There is so much spin look at guy who had the first drop of the new vaccine administered by the director of nursing I wonder how many she has done since?

Clap for careers. They must be drilling in some 5G masts again. The do it quickly during, while the clapping suppresses the noise and the 5G can infect us.

It's like the army that built all the Nightingale hospitals.

Saw on the news that there’s been a new Covid test created by a student at Birmingham University that will give a result within 5 minutes. Says he hopes it will mean sports events, concerts, etc could return in the not too distant future.

As you know i always try and find any positive possible through this. Difficult to at the moment, but bearing in mind its a 10 day incubation period, the 'peak' of cases from the xmas mixing you think would be today, and that as of tomorrow you would expect to see at least cases start to drop?

Probably wrong again but hey ho. So fucking depressing

Yeah, was thinking the same. Fingers crossed case numbers will start dropping in coming days. Keep your chin up though, hopefully the end is in sight (even if it feels a way away !). Winter was always going to be tough, winter plus this new strain has turned it into an absolute shitshow. Just hope the variant doesn’t widely spread to other, especially developing, nations

Unfortunately it’ll be large amounts of positive today which we’ve seen but a lag until those that will, do succumb to the virus. Expect 1000 to be a starting point.

Sorry to bang on but has anyone got a clue what is going on with vaccinations? It seems a total lottery at the moment who is getting them.

There's a post on my local Facebook group asking if anyone has been contacted from a patient at the same surgery as my Dad. As with my Dad (83 and with health issues) they haven't heard a thing and have been told the surgery doesn't yet have vaccines. However there's replies from people at other surgeries saying they've been vaccinated, and in some cases have already had both doses. Is this not centralised in any way? How can we be implementing the priority system if some surgeries are moving down the list while some haven't even started.

I was under the impression we were trying to get this done as quickly as possible with mass vaccination centres. There was a job advert put out by University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust last year for staff for centres at the NEC, Airport, Edgbaston, Villa Park and Millennium Point yet today the government announced there will be seven centres nationwide and only one in the Midlands at Millennium Point. They also said yesterday that there will be 1,000 local centres and 700 are already open. There's over 1,250 hospitals and over 7,500 GP practices so what happens if yours isn't on the list and the bookings aren't being done centrally?

Want to be confident this is being properly managed and my parents, not to mention myself, will get the vaccine as soon as entitled but there's too many inconsistencies in what we're being told at the moment.

My kids school has had over 220 applications for the max. 80 places reserved for key workers.....that's nearly half the school.....loads of desperate folk desperately pleading and trying to secure some form of childcare so they can go work.....I've heard others locally are even more over subscribed...

...the head has basically now gotta choose who's most worthy/least vulnerable...

I know they finally had to close schools.....but this is fucking catastrophic for millions.....

Struggling to get a clear insight. I think they have been rolled out through 'PCNs'. PCNs are Primary Care Networks and usually represent a cluster of GP Practices, often with a particular practice taking the lead. I am not sure if all practices are in a PCN, but knowing the cynical way NHS commissioners can behave, I wouldn't be surprised if those that aren't take a back seat.
