Mean estimate 61 m so 0.8% mortality. That pandemic disproportionately affected the young, as it had developed from a common strain to which older people had some immunity. So, roughly 1% of the world's population caught the disease, of which 1% died as either a direct or co-morbid result of the virus.

Christmas. Buying all those things we don’t need.Tesco at the Arena was barmy nuts today. I really didn't wish to go, but my dad insisted he needed stuff.
Not seen such long queues at the tills.
The trouble is, they have to work and safely. Although there are plenty of subjects around to volunteer. There are many claimed.
It may take an authoritarian regime without constraints to get Tests through at the earliest.
It’s not that all of those people are at risk of the flu which would cause them very similar issues. So we should absolutely encourage good personal hygiene with hands and face and be sensible and reasonable with everything elseMy biggest concern is how the old or physically vulnerable are seen as disposable. It’s ok cos only some old or sick people will die. Maybe they weren’t ready to die. Surely anything that hastens death against peoples will should be taken seriously. What next? Rare form of cancer, meh leave them do it it’s only one in a thousand

There's a sports minister meeting today to discuss playing games behind closed doors.
I really don't know the outcome but wouldn't be suprised if crowds are prevented from attending the rest of March's games.
It's true what's been said though on this thread, if fans won't gather in a stadium they'll gather in a pub or any other social setting.
If they are serious about it then they should follow what Italy are doing. However 3 deaths in nealrly 300 cases with all those that have died having poor immunity isn't what I class as alarming.

Billions have been wiped off the FTSE, someone is making an absolute ton of cash from this 'crisis'...let's hope its SISU and they have a ton of left over funds to park somewhere.
surely this is the best time to get it, too. Get infected, get looked after, recover, collect £3500. All before it kicks off properly.£3,500 to get infected with it... tempting.
