As I said before-there is NO alternative to SISU. Not until we own our own ground and academy secure. That is going to take a long time-plus it'll put us in tons of debt. After due diligence the picture for a prospective owner could be a lot worse!
Am not sure but I bet the percentage of football clubs making a profit is less than 5%. When you don't have any revenue streams a club will always be in debt! We have to sell players (which kills me) to gain income. Honestly surprised me that Mowbray got anything at all to spend!
In went in off Ferguson's beard....
Cheerio.
Just as some on here continue to shout at the council and rarely comment on Sisu.
So as you are the forum 'owner' and have gone onto the telegraph site to argue your membership numbers, do you not feel you're in a position of creating solidarity and leadership?
What suggestions do you have Nick? What do you suggest?
We know your opinions of the council, can you explain fully your opinions of Sisu? What have they done right and what have they done wrong?
A reply giving your honest opinion of Sisu would be nice, jist for the balance of course

I haven't mentioned membership numbers have I? The only thing I can remember is when somebody said there were a lot more members than there actually are so I corrected it.
The best way is to get something all the fans can agree on which is CCFC, everybody (well most) are bothered because it is CCFC. The time people are together is on a Saturday (mostly), we score a goal and it doesn't matter if people hate x, y or z they are all together. This should be the method taken.
I don't like the fact SISU are our owners, I'd love somebody to come in to try and get the club running at break even or ideally throw loads of millions in as a gift without some sort of comeback 10 years down the line like we have seen before.
As I said on another thread, one of the major issues I have with them is their communication. Included in that is transparency and honesty with the fans. If they communicated honestly, and in a much better way I'd say so many of the issues would never have occurred (or if they did, they would have been handled in a better way).
Now, there is a huge PR assault on them (not saying they dont do PR as they do) and I can see it happening rather than jumping on it.
I am not in a position to do anything, I am just a normal person who has setup a website.
So what is the CCFC plan we should get behind?
What do we need to get All parties to discuss?
Do we need to force them to discuss a long term deal at the Ricoh or are we imminent on this new stadium the EFL have Been told is the plan?
Are CCFC serious about the academy as they don't seem to be pushing it or telling us what stops them staying ?
To be honest I have not got a clue what the plan is.
CCFC should be up front leading the charge but I don't see them.
It's like pulling teeth with you Nick.
I'm not saying they force them to do anything. I'm saying by demanding they follow the rules it will force CCFC to come up with a plan to achieve them.
I'm suggesting 5 years rolling deal at the Ricoh would be a fair compromise as it is really the only option and allows the club to build a stadium and give notice.
Sisu would also need to think seriously about the court cases in respect of achieving the EFL rule.
I haven't once said we should get behind a "plan". We should get behind the team.
I am not saying we should all go to a game and say "SISU we love you, we really want you here". I am saying we should be saying "It is CCFC we are bothered about".
While people aren't arsed, it gives everybody free reign. Would people try to take the piss so much out of CCFC (all parties included) if there were 20k fans there every week?
Again, this comes back to communication doesn't it?
But it's a chicken and egg situation.
The only thing that will bring those numbers back is performance on the pitch.
We can argue all day on the amount of blame Sisu should take for that.
The irony of your first line is incredible. I sincerely believe your post can be summed up in two words, Point (and) Missed.
Nick is rightly pointing out that neither the FL or anyone can force Wasps to give us a contract at the Ricoh, whether SISU want it or not. You blithely keep banging on that this is what the club should do when this isn't on the table, there is no evidence it will ever be, and apart from your posts has never been mentioned before. You are a businessman, work it out.
All I can say is that it's in Sisu's hands to drive this process.
The others have told them the sticking points which all boils down to the fruitless court battles on behalf of SISU but not CCFC or its fans.

So if people are going to sit at home and act all upset if CCFC move or our academy closes how does it look if people are only arsed when we are winning?
"ah, there are only 7000 people rocking up, it isnt as bad if ccfc move 15 miles away, nobody cares about them"
"shit, theres a full house every week, it is going to be a lot more difficult if ccfc move"
The fact that actual CCFC fans won't have a bad word said about the council or Wasps is an example of just how easy they have it.
There is no evidence of that - just wasps say so. I think it's crap.
That's the Reality of the situation unfortunately.
I would even say the majority at home are not upset or even that bothered.
I guess some would only see are academy players being sold off and loads of loan players in the team, so the academy would be off the radar.
Years of club decline will only be overturned by a long sustained run of success.
It is the fact that you are blind to it really.
If Wasps said "go and kill 4 homeless dogs" then it would be "well CCFC know what they have to do".
So continue the fruitless court battle with your support then.
Everybody else is waiting to see if they can help with a venue and the academy.
The ones like "bring us back to Coventry" and then went for 1 game... (we actually won it as well).
No other fans would allow what has gone on whether they liked SISU or not. They certainly wouldn't be on their fans forums etc justifying Wasps taking over.
It does nt matter what anybody thinks , does , Sisu will do what suites them , they care nothing for the fans , there only agenda is themselves so which ever way the fans go , ie stay away or mass attendances I fear they wont give a shit either way
I can't see anybody justifying Wasps on here.
I can see people facing up to the reality of the situation and others who can't get past it.
I can't see anybody justifying Wasps on here.
Thanks for the really great input into the discussion #294.
I think you get things a bit muddled.
Nobody is waiting to see if they help.
I go to the games on matchdays to support the team I have supported since birth, I don't go to courtrooms to support court battles.
So Wasps are not waiting for JR1 to finish before they negotiate the outstanding 17 points ?
So Wasps and CSF don't think they could help CCFC academy but are waiting for CA to attend a meeting while he waits for a letter?
...... and I'm confused ?
How have you made the leap from the league saying we are looking for a long-term solution, with no mention of building a new ground, to stating that they believe we are building a new stadium? It appears they believe Sisu are building a new stadium.
I quote “The EFL understands that Coventry City are seeking to find a long-term stadium solution that will enable the Sky Blues to generate revenue on a comparable basis to other EFL clubs. We remain in regular dialogue with the club about this matter.”
What does being in L1, which of course we weren't when we moved to the Ricoh, have anything to do with owning or part owning a stadium management company and how successfully that company is run?the clubs clout in running the complex from the lowly position of League 1.
Let's follow that through to its conclusion then. The FL say we must have a 10 year deal on a stadium in the city. Wasps continue to refuse to talk to the club about a new deal. What then? Do the FL kick the club out of the league?I'm saying by demanding they follow the rules it will force CCFC to come up with a plan to achieve them.
:jawdrop:I can't see anybody justifying Wasps on here

Only Wasps really? There is no evidence of that - just wasps say so. I think it's crap.

So you have faced up to how you see it. How has that helped the situation?
Why is it that anyone who thinks that all parties need to resolve the stadium issue, not just SISU, are all in favour of court battles. That's just a cheap shot, when you have nothing to further your argument.
Personally I would be happy to see the back of SISU, Wasps and the Council dissolved, so am I a SISU, Council and Wasps apologist or anti apologist?
Going back to wanting SISU out, this depends on replacements of course. I am happy if we get security of the ground and academy even if that is with SISU. This is about saving the club not removing SISU out of the process, its the wider issue of securing our future.
Once you can face the fact that Wasps are not going anywhere you will turn to Sisu for the solution.
As I said on many occasions the answer lies with Sisu working with the other parties and using their facilities, not the demise of Wasps as a solution.
One day Sisu and the few will realise this.
