I think this might be the 2nd match I take my lad to.

Choosing this one as I'd like to be there to give MR the reaction he deserves after the 7 years he had at the club. Totally deserves a great reception as an appreciation of everything he achieved for us. A nice send off if you will.

After that, it's forgotten for 90mins as I want nothing less than 3 points for Cov.

I'm pretty much sure FL is expecting and probably wouldn't begrudge the warmth and warm reception for MR.

Anything like that should be after the game, not during or before.

There will be utter & complete outrage when they score in the 7th minute, in a 1-0 defeat, when the crowd are applauding his 7 years & the players are furiously telling the oppo to put the ball out of play so they can join in!

I'm liking the idea of that let Robins milk the crowd and then the stadium announcer can say the king is dead, God save the King, super Frankie Lampard who can run out the tunnel to raptious applause
No problem there-he can still mingle with all the queens……..

He hasn't died.

Fucking hell mate, give it a rest. I know he hasn't died FFS.

All I've said is I'd like to be part of showing gratitude to someone who almost single handedly turned our club around over the course of 7 years.

Stop with all this crap insinuating that everyone is whacking off over MR still, pining for him and wishing he was our best mates.

I think he'll get a massive round of applause when he comes out of the tunnel.

After the game when we've whooped them 4-0, I doubt he'd do himself any favours with the Stoke lot, going out onto the pitch for a round of applause from the crowd.

I mean you're coming to this game to especially give him a "send off". Hope they have some half and half scarves left :)

I don't get to go to games much so have to pick and choose and this is one where an ex manager of ours who is arguably one of of best ever, is back for the first time. It's hardly a stretch to see why its a good fixture for some to go to.

Half and half scarves...sure.

I don't get why you're soooo against anyone having an ounce of admiration for MR. Weird.

I'm just pointing out he isn't dead when people are going on about giving him a "send off".

He left after getting the sack (which was the right decision).

But after everything he did for the club, don't you think it would be nice to at least give him a good round of applause as a thank you?

This is the internet, which holds a very small minority of opinions, mostly negative. In reality, he will be clapped, cheered, sang about, loved and most probably have many sky blue fans waiting by the Stoke bus for his arrival.

Stupid question but I’ve never really noticed: do managers come out for the warmup or just at the start of the game? If it’s the start of the game everyone will be clapping anyway as the teams come out and we’re mid song medley.

Managers normally have to do the busy work of meeting the ref, exchanging team sheets and the rest so don’t come out for warm ups at least at this level.
