You're having a good season, I wouldn't be too concerned. Will be interesting to see what insights Joe Edwards offers to be fair, is it mostly his players still there?

He has played RWB. He has never played RB, and he will not play it well.
I agree he does have those qualities. But let's not put the only player who has consistently performed this year in a position to become a boo boy by playing him a very different role.

Assume that the team we picked today was based on not wanting to change too much personnel wise. Binks and Dasilva get carved open so easily every week, it can't carry on.

Yes, we’re having a good season in that I doubt we’ll be pulled into the relegation spots, but I’m sure you feel the same with your set of players in that sometimes you wonder how your manager can be so blind (or negative) when he doesn’t pick the in form players over those that just aren’t cutting it.
The only player that Edwards brought in, was Tanganga on loan from Spurs in the January transfer window, so plaudits to him and his connections in getting him through the door (and plaudits for Harris securing him permanently on a free transfer in the summer).
In the summer we also signed Jensen, Kelly, Langstaff and Ivanovic on permanent deals and got Coburn and Wintle on loan from Middlesbrough and Cardiff respectively. The rest of the team you’ll see on Saturday all played for Edwards in his 19 game spell as manager, so I’m sure he’ll be able to inform Frank on the weaknesses of some of our players (especially Bradshaw) and how terrible we are at taking corners and set pieces (don’t believe the commentators hype that we’re good doing the latter, because we’re not!)

Can only think you haven't really seen us play this season. The players do decide to turn up once every 3 or 4 games though, and that cycle is coming around again next week I suppose.
What I can pretty much guarantee is we aren't keeping a clean sheet!

- Dreadful performance with the exception of EMC and Rudoni.
- Worse than Derby, who at least were tactically well marshalled. Cardiff were crap
- Basic skills lacking - like the weight of pass
- We can't keep having the combination of Binks, Thomas & Da Silva and conceding 2 goals a game - it's asks too much of the forwards
- MVE and Tats seemed incapable of working an overlap for one or other of them to cross.
- Bassette is a headless chicken. Simms next time.
- Da Silva needs permanently looking after - EMC did it this time - you can't afford that. Please bring back Bidwell asap
- For all Eccles workmanlike efforts, he has no penetrating pass and this year it seems neither does Sheaf. Throws it all onto Rudoni.
- Speed up. How many times the obvious thing to do was there for all to see, but the player would hold the ball or delay the throw in, or whatever, and then do the thing that had been glaringly obvious seconds before, but which they had chosen not to do. But by then Cardiff had it covered.
My "favourite" moment? every time we had a corner or similar, the centre halves went forward and the three shortest members of the team, Da Silva, Tats and MVE dropped back. They looked like Oompa Loompa's. A defence made up of midgets. Please don't mansplain the reasoning for this, I know what it is, I am just saying it looked comical.

The style we saw today leads me to think Binks playing at LB is a distinct possibility, with him tucking in and becoming a double pivot with Sheaf when we’re on the attack. Rudoni providing the overlap option makes sense to me, similar to Van Ewijk on the right, but it’s contingent on EMC and Sakamoto tucking into CM when the move breaks down.
I think what I want is an experienced centre back alongside Thomas and Binks at LB.

Just watched their second goal back, we're just so off it, Sheaf and Rudoni passed around easily, Rudoni letting their 18 run by him and Binks half heartedly tries to block it but not the path of the actual shot. Fucking atrocious.

Just wonder what the message was at half time, we came out and conceded almost immediately and then looked distinctly clueless for 45 minutes. Perhaps it was just information overload in the space of a few days leading to confusion?

Just catching up on EFL highlights. It looked like a Cardiff player was in an offside position right in front of Collins for their first goal. Actually went to play it but must have unsighted Collins, clearly “interfering with play”.

I thought two of their players looked offside for their goal, we was very lucky to get a pen. No idea how that Blackburn player did not receive a red card for that terrible challenge
Few things from yesterday.
1. Personnel wise, Lampard has gone for a team of players who have been playing recently, as he's clearly not had time to assess who fits best into his system, or who he thinks should be playing. That just makes sense to minimise disruption.
2. What is basically one training session isn't long enough to get a team playing the way you want them to - blaringly obvious this would be the case. It's going to take weeks, if not months, and hopefully we don't lose too many.
3. Players didn't know what they were doing for most of the match. Makes sense considering the lack of time they've had with the coaching team.
4. Defence was already a liability before we switched to a 4, drastic action needs to be taken.
5. The first Cardiff goal was offside, the penalty was clear cut.
6. He's asked them to transition from a 4-3-3 to a 4-2-3-1, but Rudoni keeps drifting massively out left. That helps EMC but leaves Sakamoto isolated.
7. Bassette was screaming out to be played in behind throughout the first half, the kind of balls Torp is capable of providing.

All the EFL highlights but commented on two games. Ours and Blackburns. Have a look at the Blackburn game if you can, the yellow for Dolan just shows how crap referees really are. The tackle was a potential career ender, unfortunately not a career ender for the referee.(Lewis Smith).
I was at the CBS but ended up arriving late and missed the first two goals.
For our penalty, I did wonder whether the ball was out before it was handled, but if it had have been a goal kick, not a corner, should have been awarded.
