Honest answer? I'm procrastinating and saw a few threads that were interesting. If you paid attention, you'd notice that I drop in from time to time although I don't tend to get too involved these days because...well, what's the point? I go to most games these days so can have far better discussions about Cov in real life without any of the bollocks that tends to come with online chat.
As for this particular thread, I'm a member of the Trust, I organised the first ever supporters trust meeting in Cov (although the actual setting up of the trust was done later by other people, a couple of whom were at that original meeting at the supporters club in Freehold St) and I've always believed that supporters should have proper representation on the board of football clubs for me so it's a potentially interesting discussion.
Why do you care?
(Back to the actual discussion, thanks to OSB for clarifying some of the details. Hopefully people won't get too excited/worked up and things can move forward.)
Some real giants of football there
Ignore the idiot. I'm convinced the guy is a councillor. He is definitely not a fan - I've a sneaking suspicion it's that twat Maton.
In fairness to Maton, I've actually seen him at a game.

is that why Les Reid's mate Rob_S has rocked up and posted for the first time in ages? Funny that Nick hasn't realised.

Its like the secret millionaire but at the end they take money and tell you your bins aren't getting emptied and the local library is getting closed.Your life must be hilarious.
"Can't find my keys, bet it's that twat Maton"

My thoughts exactly. I'm not opposed to the principle of it at all, but the evidence only proves that small English clubs can survive with this type of model. Whilst we're not exactly modern-day giants, we'd arguably be the biggest club on that list.
Portsmouth? Rangers? The point is that the only reason any of these clubs are around is because of fan ownership. Also no one is saying it needs to be 100% fan ownership. Swansea for example.

And you should come and join me in here. Some people live in a paranoid fantasy world.
You know something is afoot when Rob S shows up. Like Glen after a defeat.
Some people live in a paranoid fantasy world and worse still have forum specific Tourettes syndrome.
I would like to find out more about a supporter based takeover. And if feasible would be happy to make a decent donation to the cause. I would be happy to have a share/certificate that I could pass on to my youngest lad to say we helped get our club back from the claws of SISU. And when someone comes along who can afford to run our club I would be happy for my share to have no value or any legal standing. But maybe it would give us the choice on who does take over our club.
Hedge funds need not apply.
Read what it says, a supporter led takeover, that doesn't necessarily mean the Trust or similar taking over the club and running it there maybe interest in the back ground looking for a way in and supporters groups such as the Trust trying to create an avenue for them or maybe Cj ,ashbyjan, moss or steve850 have discovered Bill Gates is an uncleI would like to find out more about a supporter based takeover. Might be a good one to live stream with a decent feed to periscope or something?

Read what I says. I says I would be happy to. Didn't say it was the best way forward. But whatever happens I will back it in some way. Even if only in a small way of buying a Season ticket that I won't use.Read what it says, a supporter led takeover, that doesn't necessarily mean the Trust or similar taking over the club and running it there maybe interest in the back ground looking for a way in and supporters groups such as the Trust trying to create an avenue for them or maybe Cj ,ashbyjan, moss or steve850 have discovered Bill Gates is an uncle

I`m in ,,,,how much ££££££££
Pompey fans put in £1000 each. 16k fans at the last home game. They are still watching a poor standard of football, and they may not go up, despite being a giant in League 2. I just don't think our fan based has the commitment or the patience to follow this model.
Starting to agree.
No fight left anymore.
The potential is here but our fan base is very split in views, as I understand it no two clubs are the same and each model would be set up to suit the individual team.
I think they use the Portsmouth situation to show what is possible, ok they may be playing poor Football and in lower leagues but at least they have a club and have a future.
Portsmouth have dreams we in our present state have nothing.
