You clearly don't understand football. He is there to win the ball and play it simple. To call him a coward behind your screen is cowardly act in itself. Do you remember how he sustained a long term knee injury from throwing himself at the ball and colliding with the post.
Bollocks he had several chances to be progressive tonight but chose to pass the responsibility to people who were under pressure multiple times. Not shooting and passing back out the box to Van Ewyck just before the end of the game was a perfect example. Far too many people with rose tinted glasses when it comes to Kelly. He “has” to wear the armband when he plays yet shows zero leadership

Gives me faith that even with the second string out and everyone mindfucked from Sunday we still had to give them two goals and a penalty to lose TBH
If you’re interested in being a promotion wining team you’re going to get mindfucked every week. We’re really miles off it.

That last bit is basically correct but our defence was close to full strength and it gave another 3 terrible goals away.

Tired legs and tired minds and a shocking ref decision for pen

Not going to knock the team tonight it was always going to be a struggle and even after two absolute gifts, at 2-2 I thought we were more likely to get the winner….that third just killed us though and every last drop of energy seemed to just drain from the players

After a solid start Collins has had a poor run since coming back in the team which is my only worry about tonight

Dasilvas last couple of performances suggest to me he’s got something to offer us going forward

That is his game though? He did the same in our play off run last year. Win in ad pass it to a better player, team need players like him.

The defence has been suspect since January I’m afraid. Puts lots of pressure on the forwards to rescue games

Just after half time, we kept playing it in the channels for Simms and Wright. We suddenly stopped.

Seems to be a lot of anger and frustration on here tonight.

I just think we saw a team that with players that were either mentally and physically exhausted from Sunday or rusty from not playing in so long.

It's a shame that our season has petered out like this but we can't have it every year and it was going to be a massive stretch after our start to the season. A start that was slow because players now lauded as great were struggling. I think we need to remember that when we're digging out individual players that are experiencing their first season at this level, playing a full season for the first time or taking added responsibility.

This is the first season (discount the L1 relegation that wasn't his fault) that MR has finished lower than the season before. I trust him in the transfer market, I trust him to develop and motivate the players and get the tactics right to push this bunch on next season. We don't need wholesale changes, we just need additional quality.

All focus on next season now and I'm very hopeful of a great one.

I’d have to agree with a lot of it to be honest - he’s always a couple of steps behind the pace of the game, and we don’t need players sat playing it simple - win the ball and play it FORWARD, and while they’re at it progressively and effectively

Sheaf and even Eccles do it
Behind the pace is a fair and accurate comment but it’s the ‘coward’ part I take issue with.

People have to understand last season was a fluke, a great fluke but no one expected us to be up there and as as been said we just managed to have a potential 80m quid striker ripping this piss for us.

spot on. For all the cash they spent if we hadn’t played 120mins on Sunday reckon we’d have comfortably won. Just knackered

poor excuse though, we’ve had three days to recover - lots of teams play midweek / weekend / midweek, in fact Hull played last Saturday so only a day more rest, being knackered isn’t an excuse, they’re professional footballers it’s what they do!

imagine if a doctor chopped your wrong leg off because they were ‘knackered’ - you wouldn’t stand (no pun intended) for that, would you?

I can actually buy into the idea that mistakes happen and a GK is far more involved with his feet than his hands in a game.

But Collins distribution has gone to shit as well. Just achingly slow to release the ball and never seems to complete a pass that’s not to CBs any more.

We’ve bought a goalie who has played at forest green rovers, burton & Barnsley to replace a golden glove keeper in the championship. The worst signing ever, looks like he’s squirted fairly liquid all over his gloves.
