First games of any real pressure on him were to get 4 points from Blackburn and Wednesday. We didn't.

Then it was 3 points from Preston or QPR. We didn't.

Lose on Saturday then that is 4 defeats in 6 home games, and we would actually be cut slightly adrift.

I'm trying to see it how Doug would. If you've invested the best part of 50 million quid into something in the expectation of being a solid top 8 team with play off aspirations, and you end up cut adrift in the bottom 3 after 12 games, you're going to start thinking of changing things surely?

King hasn't spent 50 million though.
By his own admission he's not funding the playing side.
Don't know whether that changes things but if he'd invested 50 mil of his own cash I'd imagine that would alter his stance.

It depends on what King sees his investment term being doesn't it? And you could still be a solid top 8 team by Christmas (unlikely as it may seem).

Well, at least with it being a 12-30 ko,the sleep coach should have them all wide-awake, instead of having their post-lunch nap between 3-4pm

Luton are a physical team, can see us getting bullied all over the shop :(
If their MO is to play for set pieces and put loads of crosses into the box it won’t be close. This lot can’t defend their own 6 yard box.

Torp deserves a start. He's been pretty good in his cameos after the Norwich game.
I'd make him captain. Seems to be the only one capable/willing to direct and organise play.

We did in the play off final tbh

We were rotten in the first half, Adebayo absolutely slaughtered us

Still think we’d calmed down and had them sussed in the second though, was always going to be an uphill battle when Hamer went off though

And we're not very good at winning headers either. 😡

I’ve heard that they played really well against Sunderland but didn’t finish their many chances. I fear the worst, its a shitty early kick off and we can’t seem to perform in these, Luton are physically stronger all round, our players are lacking confidence…..and worse of all I suspect the City fans will be fairly furious if we are losing early doors.

Some interesting stats really, we spend a lot of time in the opposition's final third 6th highest, and 6th lowest amount of time that the opposition spend in our third. All points again to the same conclusion really, our goals to shots ratio against is too high and goals to shots ratio for is too low. I would be more worried if we just didn't spend any time in the opposition third or spent most of the game trying to defend as it is unsustainable.

As stupid as it sounds, it really boils down to us finishing our chances and not giving crap goals away.

Feels like so many of the goals we've conceded have just been sudden lapses in concentration and general sloppy defending errors.

We're obviously not playing very well, but it does seem like very fine lines with recent results.
It's only really Leeds who have taken us apart, but I do worry about the upcoming run of games

What a horrible difference 2 months makes. Thinking about this fixture in preseason it was to good sides with some great championship players on show.

Now, I'd love a surprise, but think we'll get run off the park and it'll be men against boys.

Strong parallels with the Thorn season on that front.
