I agree

Too many have written him off and it's still early into his career with us.

I am always reminded of just how awful Adebola was at first with us. He looked absolutely dreadful. Came back from his loan spell like a completely different player.

Have to give BTA til the end of the season at least I think.
I’m still not sure what his principle asset is.

He’s not clinical, he’s not got a trick, he’s not slow but he’s not super quick, he’s very one footed, not dominant in the air…..

Didn’t think I would be saying this a few weeks ago but EMC would be quite a miss if injured, especially with Haji out. Means we would have to go more direct through the middle to Norm and Simms. Have Millwall got their ( missing from the last game) centre backs fit now ?

Really liked him at first for his energy and ability to get into goal scoring positions if not score goals. But he’s one player who seems to have gone backwards under Lampard in that wing role. And he’s not good enough to be striker ahead of Simms or Bassette. Not sure what you do with him.
His link up play is nowhere near good enough to begin with in that wing role but it's made worse by his desperation to get a goal. Quite often he ignores good overlapping runs to try a difficult shot.

I have no idea why he would say it to me if he didn’t believe it to be true. Maybe @Saddlebrains or @Jimmy87 has a view?
The info I received about BTA was back in April. I'd heard that MR was a long time admirer, his name was put forward as a suggestion during talks. With regards to the Hull thing, I got told he was always coming here as talks had been ongoing, but the offer came from Hull and he was asked to go up there and at least have a look around, which he did out of respect. I think him doing that, jogged our movement for him.

Are we doing that thing where we pretend a manager not slagging off his own players in the press is proof he fought off all the advice of his excellent recruitment team and forced them through?
No, just thought it was a interesting comment at the time.

Also if you watch his interview he did on signing for us think he talked about almost joining us in L2, so it would line up that Robins has been an admirer for a while.

Same team (unless EMC is out and then I guess BTA comes in on the left.

another home win would be delicious
TBQH I would prefer Ruddy on the left and Torp bought in if EMC is not fit! Brandon does my head in sometimes, headless chicken, no ball control etc. But will probably nick a goal late in proceedings as he used to with WBA

Pacman is an anti lampard troll
I've been on this board since it's inception and GMK before that, so I hardly think I'm a troll. I'm yet to be convinced Lampard is the answer. Nothing wrong with opinions. Simms is a far better player than Bassette, who is young and raw, and missed sitters when presented to him. Sometime goals stats are important. Simms will score goals at this level which he proved last season. So yes a must starter against a very physical defence.

Tanganga is back (thank God) but Cooper is still out.

Having said that, Tanganga had a poor game (for him) against Norwich, when he and our other CH, Wallace, gifted Norwich two scrappy goals, so if Tango is off his game you’ll have a much better chance of scoring against us.

I would have been more happy had we had Alex Neil in post by the time we played you (hoping for the new manager bounce), but he’s not taking charge until New Years Day, when we face Oxford United at the Den, now managed by our old manager, Gary Rowett. :poop:

Neil will be watching from the stands so I’m hopeful our players will be up for the scrap, knowing the new gaffer is watching and judging them. All I can hope is that our interim manager, Livermore, has discussed the starting 11 (and the formation) with Neil and our players can atone for their performance against you earlier this month.

I think we will score but I’m still expecting you to win, especially if Wright is playing (as he always scores against us). You’ll be the first team this season to do the double over us if you win, but as long as we don’t lose by more than 1 goal (which we haven’t done all season) then defeat won’t be that bad.

If you were to put a gun to my head and ask me to make the choice of beating you or Oxford, I’d choose Oxford. It’s imperative that our new manager gets off to a winning start. We’re at home and I’d like nothing better than to play Oxford off the park and show their wank manager just how shit he was, and how much he held us back during his time with us!

You have left your anger over robins sacking affect you though. Your being childish and silly over lampard

I have no issues with Simms starting a game btw. My issue is you making out like hull and Plymouth wins mean nothing but Pompey loss means lampards taking us backwards

I see what I see. It's about opinions. I'm too old to act like a child. Experience matters. You don't have to like my opinion, I'm not asking for your approval. There are many on here would agree with me. I want Lampard to succeed and take us up. ATM I'm not convinced. Millwall is a game we should win. Yet I'm aprehensive? Anyone else feel that way?

Wright's out mate, unfortunately.
EMC, (who scored at the New Den), been playing in his place and been racking up the goals and assists but came off at HT Thursday so no ones sure if he'll be playing or not.

And you wouldn't have been apprehensive pre lampard?

Need to cut BTA some slack. When he’s started through the middle he’s generally looked ok. Always looks upbeat and puts the effort in. It’s unfair to judge him coming on for 10 minute left wing cameos. I believe he has as many goals as Bassette, with far fewer starts. Having him is what part of having a strong squad is.

I totally agree.

We have had a number of players who weren’t particularly good until they had settled in and played for us for a while.

Gykores, Simms, Haji and EMC spring to mind immediately.

Coming down from Cumbria for this and bringing my son to his first game (he wasn't really into football until he turned on the fa cup semi to see how dad's team were doing just a few mins before Simms goal, he was captivated....was in tears when Torp's goal was ruled out and again when the pens were missed.... A fan was born right then)
What time roughly do the players usually arrive as I thought it would be great for him to try see/meet them?
Most players get there between 12:15 and 12:45 in my experience. It’ll be busy but if you get there in good time you’ll be able to get photos with the players as they all take time to meet the fans.

Btw nearly executed a very tricky lob. No idea why always has to be some player to get on the back off?

It's gonna be the same people wrote off Simms twice plus Haji and emc. Now basette starting to get it too a bit

Weirdos.
