Great win that - I thought Oxford looked alright 2bh. They had the issue we had first season back - making silly mistakes at the wrong time…

they get punished against players like Haji Wright. Maybe a bit open. But definitely played their part in an open game.

defence deffo needs working on for us. All 3 goals we’ve conceded have been our own making. Will be interesting against Bristol again next week. They changed 7 players against us in the cup

a win by any means necessary was the most important thing tonight, defense does look shaky at times and both goals we conceded were awful, basically gifting goals away, but I’m gonna put that down to early season jitters.

If Sheaf is still here at the end of the window, he’ll bring a much needed calmness in the middle and balance between attack and defence when he’s fully fit.

Going forward in the first half we look as good as any team in the league, some beautiful football at times and Rudoni is the real deal.

Excellent and entertaining game to watch. Theres a buzz about the CBS like never before. We were much the better team for the most part but Oxford were a good side and will shock a few teams. They defended well but our plentiful attacking options are going to overwhelm our opponents this season . Only negatives for me was Simms being fairly anonymous and more defensive slips. We could do with another centre back.

If we’d have drawn 2-2 I’d still have been happy with that. Attacking wise we were brilliant to watch and that was a step up on the Yok and Hamer days. Oxford got 2 weird goals. We got two excellent and 1 well taken ones. I have a feeling that may be how this season goes. You score 3, we’ll score 4.

Not had a chance to have a proper look back at the comments, but that was a great game of football. Feeling more and more positive about the game, although maybe there is a correlation with my blood alcohol level as I have a few late Friday beers.

Two fantastic goals, and a very cool Wright to get the winner. Slightly frustrated at the manner of the goals conceded, very much like last season, but the obvious reason for that is probably because it is the same defence as last season, and quite a young defence too.

Well done to the fans there for making a very good atmosphere, Oxford fans did quite well, although I am now in the safe standing area so the closest to the away fans I've ever been at the CBS. Oxford looked very good, I thought, a very good away performance but undone by a lapse in concentration.

Good three points, good performance, ref was a bag of unadulterated wank and Sakamoto and MvE are going to be in the nightmares of many opposition defences this season. COME ON! PUSB!

Torp, Rudoni, MVE, Tats, Haji and Simms were all fantastic today for me. I called Lati as a weak link before the match and he wasn't bad but he was bullied a bit. Thomas Asante didn't seem to bring much and EMC is definitely finding his feet. MVE didn't know where to find him for a while.

Simms is a constant threat. We were less threatening without him.
Look I don't want to ding Simms too much. After all he scored a great goal vs Bristol C in midweek. But today he just seemed a little off his game and missed getting a touch on Haji's pass which would have made it 2-0 and then we would have won at a canter. Instead he next mishits a ball in our box and ends up inadvertently assisting them for their first goal. Even MVE's goal was a stray ball that first came Simm's way, but he couldn't get a touch on it.

Despite being big and strong he sometimes gets outmuscled. Also there are times when he is not confident enough to pull the trigger or rushes his shots when he could try to position himself better for a shot. I really liked Haji's patience for his 3rd goal today when he rounded the keeper instead of rushing the shot.

I think we need to move on from digging deep into how Haji and Simms play.

Regardless of their first touch or whether they look interested or not, they will both score 20+ goals if they stay injury free. They are the definition of 20 goal strikers.
