Two observations from this
1) I still think it's a (flexible) 4-2-3-1 not a flat 4-3-3. Rudoni was higher up than Simms on average!
2) Look at the difference in the sides - we only had our two CDs with an average position in our half, and Oxford were so narrow and deep

Agreed on that, Rudoni had free license in attack and to be fair to him, was responsible for filling in defensively when Torp moved forward too. I don’t want to get too carried away, but the early signs to me is that he’s an upgrade on COH.

Thought that our lad was lucky with those swings. If he connects properly or your lad goes down in front of a feral home crowd he’s probably walking. Your lad does us a favour by not being a “gamesman”.

The ref seemed to give us the rub of the green and a few soft ones in the opening 30 minutes. Second half it kind of felt like a reversal and more went your way.

regard adding the time our goalie held on for probably 3-4 seconds more than is reasonable on 3-4 occasions. It was still open play and that left another 6 mins 45 seconds to account for. I think if the shoe was on the other foot you may have asked the same question on this forum

the point the fans were making about you celebrating was that pre game the general predictions on here were that you should be beating teams like Oxford. Which you should if you have aspirations to go up. And you did. The fact we took you to the 96th minute means you were “limbs “ and thus probably celebrating far more than the walk in the park that was expected. It was a sign to our fans that we did better than expected. You didn’t celebrate like that after the 6th goal in the fa cup in january 😉

interesting to read how you started to financially compete after opening season in the championship by flipping players for more value. Right now the budgets seem unfathomable and unmatchable to a small club like ours. We shall see how it goes.

On another day that score could have been dirty but I’ve seen enough to think we won’t finish 24th. Nobody expected a point from yesterday but there was optimism that we could compete and we nearly stole a point
It’s the intent not whether the attempt to punch makes contact

it literally says in the laws striking or attempting to strike

it’s a clear red and the assistant must have seen them both

Spot on. He attempted to strike him (twice) which is violent conduct, red card & minimum 3 match ban.

The fact that he missed because he's as good a boxer as he is a footballer matters not.

The referring and the linesman performance was abysmal last night. Championship is a very valuable competition considering what the prize is for promoted teams. The standard of officiating does not match where it needs to be.

I completely agree.

what I’m saying is that the ref / assistant probably didn’t give it because he didn’t do what so many players do now and go down. It was very silly from our lad and we got lucky

The use of feral was both deliberate and a compliment. A feral crowd creates an intimidation that can sway a referee .

(Feral meaning “wild state” for the one poster above who decided to go down the insult route)

The Cov player starts by trying to trip him with his left leg, then body checks him, shoving his arse into Placheta’s groin. What’s he expected to do when he’s trying to get in his shorts? Send him a bunch of flowers!

Thought you got lucky with the ref's decisions on a number of occasions. The potential red cards (2, as there was at least 1 off the ball incident against our CH) but also the free kick, that resulted in your first equaliser was a joke decision
Torp was dragged to the ground by his shirt!

But at least Vaulks made amends with that last minute defence splitting pass for Wright to run on to. It was Zidane like, pure quality.

Any way, we look forward to seeing your minibus full of fans on the 27th.

Absolute nonsense. Again.

MvE gets in front of him and guards the ball - standard professional move. Placheta attempts to swing at him twice - which is well against the rules. And if you look closely enough there’s another sly, thuggish swipe on Sakamoto from Harris.

Lads he’s right, it’s right here FA Rule 69.3:

- Should a player annoy another player then the annoyed player may have a couple of digs for free, on us. Only fair.

It's a bit of a tussle. No different to what you see happening multiple times a game, they were competing for the ball. Not sure how you can defend it, he may be your player but ultimately would be you he let down if it had even so much as brushed the player - he'd have definitely walked. That happens and you'd have likely been on the end of a hammering.
