Palmer, Simms, whoever, don't really give a fuck. I'll take one square peg over ripping up the only formation that's worked for us all season.

Wright probably. Simms in the middle, Palmer on the left, O'Hare behind, Torp/Eccles midfield duo. It's what he did last time we did this, didn't work, so he reverted to back 5. Time to try it again.

Yeah, Wright on that side makes sense as his left foot is pretty strong.

@shmmeee made the point that O'Hare links up well with MvE, though.

Persuaded me that him that side would be worth a shot with Wright on the left.

I’m not sure why Robins is averse to Palmer on the right, I assumed maybe he links with Dasilva well cos they’re mates. Any maybe Wright is as good on the right as the left, I just always think if you can keep most players in the position they’re used to, do it. O’Hare might be awful RW but it’s strange to me we haven’t tried it considering.

It’s as much personnel than system. Sakamoto was a big reason for our success in 4-2-3-1.

Same with Sheaf, we’ve looked defensively vulnerable since he’s been injured.

I honestly think that our best team is in a 3-4-1-2/the box formation. I don’t like that either.

If we’re planning on playing with a back 3 for the rest of the season then tomorrow night is a good opportunity to try and bed that in, against some pretty vulnerable opposition. It obviously won’t be a training session, but it will be the easiest game we have left to play by some distance.

If we lose tomorrow night, who from here is going to follow this Darmstadt fan's lead? 🤣

Unbelievably cringe, imagine one of our celebrity fans doing that after a few Ghost Town lagers. Probably struggle to remember the players’ names.

If you have to drop your top scorer I’d argue it’s not your best formation. Which rules out the box.

Rotherham have a horrendous injury list and have make shift fill ins all over the team.

We need to win comprehensively to regain some of our lost GD in recent games.
Only lost 4-3 at Ipswich the other week. I'll be happy with any win, but would be nice to do it convincingly.

Just find it weird that you'd abandon a system that's been working because 1 player is injured. But then we have also seen the reintroduction of Ben Wilson so maybe its weird season.

Scoring first would make me feel better

It’s still superior to Wilson’s distribution which has always been dreadful. I don’t think any of those players are/were in a position to question the manager either.
Collins is better than Wilson no doubt but if he back chats to the manager, the bench is the right place to be and Robins just showing who is boss.

Fuck the pair of them if they’re getting arsey quite frankly. Don’t need it in the dressing room.

If two new players are giving lip to the manager frankly they can both fuck off in the summer and we’ll get someone with the right attitude in. You don’t win va Robins here.
Totally agree. Its not like either have been top players for us, especially Kitching who has made a number of crucial mistakes

Kitchin looks like a leader to me and keadets challenge. They challenge their team mates, they challenge their boss. If it’s done in the right way it’s a positive thing .

Discussion - yes
Challenge (MR) - no

You do all realise that you're discussing a post on Twitter, made by some random bloke and that Saddlebrains has heard nothing about it, don't you. 🤪

Keep your eyes peeled for my "the moon is made of cheese" tweet just after brunch this morning.

I'm sorry that tweet will be useless in daylight hours and seriously blue by now, can't see anyone eating this!

No. Leaders don’t challenge their leader when they’ve been there five minutes. Led fuck all. Achieved fuck all. A leader. Why? Because he looks a bit hard? What’s he actually done on the pitch to show he’s a leader? Because we’ve been severely lacking this season.

If the rumours are true. He’s just sticking up for his mate and undermining the actual leader of the team. Big if but as I say if true I’d fuck him off, team is far more important than a L1 defender who can’t break into the side and keeps getting himself sent off. No matter how much we had our pants down on his fee.

‘Keeps getting himself sent off’ is a bit of an overstatement. MR spent a very large amount of time and money trying to sign him, doubt he’ll be trying to flog the player off after a season.

JDS is a weak link, Bidwell is far superior but I guess MR stubborn will play JDS again, lets hope Simms has been having 1 on 1 coaching on being able to control the ball so its not as strong as his shots ! I hope Kelly plays instead of Eccles

Lol Hamer gets sent off twice in a season and it’s years of “he’s a liability, terrible discipline issues” Kitching does it andbita “an overstatement”

What we spent shouldn’t matter. Hopefully he’ll give his head a wobble and get in line but a disruptive presence in the dressing room costs the fees of all others who will underperform too.

Bidwell is far superior defensively, but this is, on paper, the easiest game of the season and we're going to have a lot of possession so wouldn't be surprised to see Dasilva play.

Someone posted up a stats comparison with MvE Bidwell and Dasilva. The only thing Bidwell was far superior on was heading. Everything else was about the same or (shot creating actions/assists) Dasilva was slightly better.
