I thought Dasilva was alright, discount the first goal he had a decent game.
Bassette needed that goal, the way he wound no.15 up was quality and he was in his head from the first time he bodied him.
Good header from Bobby, questions over his passing ability but thats not his game he’s a CB defending is his duty.
Milan looked lively in spells, a big chunk of the second half he was struggling/choosing to not get forward as much fuck knows why.
Torp and Rudi were very good at the top of the box and had a strong foundation in Sheaf and Eccles supporting them.
EMC looked class when he came on great balls into the box especially the disallowed goal.
Tatsu looked back to his old self today seems the 3 g/a in the last few games has given him that needed boost.
Simms didnt really have much of a sniff but was physical with that Soutar.
BTA worked hard unlucky with the header and also unlucky to just be caught offside food movement and finish albeit.
Collins seems to have improved his distribution and handling, perhaps his coventry career is far from over.
Rhys Carr made the right changes perhaps only thing could have been to go 2 up top earlier but fair play set us up well 2 defensive lapses cost us the 3 points.
And final point to make nailed on pen on BTA but nope yellow card instead, useless prick ‘ref’ turned up for a day out

Basically what we’ve been like for a while. Some decent possession, a couple of decent goals but absolutely clueless at the back. Not enough craft and rescued by a sending off. Simms needs to go - something is very wrong there. Thought Rudoni was excellent

Clapping Hamer for that corner has to be the most embarrassing thing our fanbase as done, oh and they nearly scored from it
Yeah, why does gus get the love when at least cal was honest and was never going to sigh. Hamerton prick teased until the season had started and then left. Yeah, we got 15 million bit too late to really replace him?

He wasn’t?

If I could win the fight with Skys website I’d take a screenshot and show you. He literally just got done by a good pass and pace. Thomas completely failed to deal with the cross but gets off Scott free.

Thomas sticks a leg out to attempt at blocking that it's more than likely an OG so same result.

Pointing the finger at Thomas and not Lati who's the real culprit screams bias against the former.

People acting like these are points dropped they’re not. Very much a point gained, came back twice from losing positions. We dominated them and they’re supposed to be one of the best teams in the league. When Lampard or whoever the new HC will be whips us into shape we’ll be a real force, and when Haji comes back from injury he’ll be like a new signing (hopefully FL brings Ashley Cole to sure up the backline)

He was definitely too slow for the second, but Dasilva's disaster ball completely disrupted our shape and allowed Hamer the space to thread a ball through.

We also stood off their player on the halfway line for way too long before hamer recieved the ball ..
There was a couple of things wrong with us leading upto the goal it's not all on Jay, but I agree he isn't good enough largely

Overall thought we were decent, should have done better with both goals we conceded though, Bassette looked a threat and would have got some joy against a slower centre back pairing.

Ah maybe it was Lati, point is the ball could have been dealt with much better and claiming “Dasilva gave away a goal” is just ludicrous.

No. I thought Thomas was poor too there. He should have thrown his body across to try and stop the cross. It looked a bit half-hearted.

On the ball he’s one of the best players in the squad.
Agreed, but what does that give us? Occasionally getting out of a tight area and keeping possession, but that's all, and it's not enough.

If you think it's criminal not to find a place for him, where would you play him? Arguments about whether wing-back is a defensive or midfield position are pointless, because however you want to define it, it's a position with significant defensive responsibilities. Dasilva can't defend; he's positionally poor and easily knocked off the ball. He's also prone to brain farts.

Do you think he offers much going forward? I don't particularly; yes, he's good on the ball, but he dithers. I often think he slows the attacks down (though he's hardly alone in that).

He is, definitely, good at football in the sense he has good technique, but where's his position? What does he bring the side that puts him ahead of anyone else, in any position?

I for one, haven't said that. So many of his mistakes do lead to goals though.

The second one was a very poor pass and in a dangerous position.

Who plays in his place? We tried Rudoni there and Sakamoto with a cameo.

Bidwell is the undisputed first choice option.

I think we are desperately short of players who can get out of tight spaces and use the ball fairly reliably well. It’s a trade off isn’t it. I have my frustrations with how slow we are going forwards across the team so not sure how much it’s an individual thing or a team thing. We’re just so pedestrian.

Fair enough it wasn't solely on Dasilva which on first look when both goals went in but he's still very much a weak link and needs replacing.

If it was 5 a side game I'd pick him every time but it isn't.

It was a bouncing ball he tried to knock through to Eccles and Eccles couldn’t control it. I know people want us to lump it clear when it’s in our own half but that’s not how the players have been told to play.

A possible own goal, I would say. Him not doing so though resulted in a definite goal.

If you can’t clear a ball coming across when you’re level with your post without scoring an own goal you shouldn’t be playing football.

Here you go...

He was in a good position, was facing the right way, and anticipated the pass.

It was just an excellent ball. Have people never heard of a defence splitting pass? That's why Hamer gets the big bucks. Just about any defender in the league is getting beat by that pass.

Have a look at the highlights and slow it down. The ball was a good two feet in front of him. So he probably wouldn't have got to it anyway even if an attempt was made, and if he did from the angle he was facing I personally think it would've been a near certain OG.

No matter what. For me you’ve got three CBs marking one striker, he shouldn’t be getting to that cross

Can’t agree with this. Was no need to be offside, just didn’t time his run properly when looking directly across the line. Header also should have been better. The one he was unlucky with was what should have been a penalty. He touched the ball before the defender caught him for which he was booked for diving. He lacks quality unfortunately.

We should have had four pens by my count. Bassette was shoved over twice in the first half right in front of me, and that’s why he gave a shove back because clearly the ref thought shoves were OK. The elbow was a little something extra.

Ref was truly dreadful again.
