Bidwell and the centre backs are about the only ones who have turned up.

The midfield have been a second behind Southampton the entire time, and the front three haven't been good enough.

Need a much better second half.

Anyone who gives Haji Wright pelters and lets Simms ride free, have a look at yourself.

Can't get near them on ball. Just more skillfully players and a coach that drills passing non stop

That said we limiting their chances and a bit of a threat ourselves.

Perhaps best we can expect when look at quality of their team

Just checked and Bazunu had more touches than every player on our team bar MvE in that half

Haji Wright is becoming a player

Ellis Simms is fucking dog wank

No left foot, no cohesion, no composure, no balance nothing

Id rather have Haji over him any day

Bit of a Meh half. Southampton are a class above, but we've had a couple of good moments on the counter. We're being too sloppy in possession, and a bit too passive off the ball at time. Obviously scared of the Armstrong's and Adams, and Southampton pace on the press.

Bidwell pick of the first half.

Against this lot especially you have to be so careful with what possession you do get as if it's given away you probably won't be seeing it again for a few minutes. With that in mind we have been pretty sloppy on the ball but still hanging in there and looking like we can catch them on the break.

Thomas and Kitching colossal. Don't have much to say about anyone else other than I think they've all worked hard. Touch of class from Sakamoto again at the end.

Not sure why the team is being slated on here. Not every game is about attack attack attack. We have defended magnificently so far against a prem relegated team currently in the top 4 and also created a few half chances.

I say well done to the team on a good half. Let's keep it up and nick the winner...

Positives: Wright putting in a good shift and laying the ball off.

I’d take Simms off for Godden but he’s not going to chase balls over the top is he?

All this talk of the problem being the CMs. Sheaf lays it on a plate for Simms and he tamely let's the defender take it away from him.

Really enjoyed watching the opposition endlessly pass the ball around while we give them as much space as we possibly can. It’s really what you pay the money for. Reckon we probably strung together less than 50 passes in the last 25 minutes of that half.

God, I miss Viktor Gyokeres.

I'm fine with that display, looking compact and composed at the back. Offering some threat upfront. Some of the link up between Simms and Wright shows they are building a partnership and should have had a pen.

Simms has had a few good touches but the determination is sadly missing.

I don’t think Simms has been that bad. Wright has been good. Defensively look solid, they were always going to have most of the ball

He just looks half arsed. Would be interesting to see him in just playing balls into the box for him to score. I don't think he can do much else himself, needs it on a plate.

(Except booting it at the keepers left titty)
