Hmm.
Wright needs a lot of work for me. he does not look like a player for this level.
Simms was having a reasonable game and Godden was unlucky but put a real good shift in bringing his fellow strikers into the game but they could not hit a barn door. That's why we are where we are.
Allen totally let the game pass him by, Sheaf with too much on his shoulders. Eccles very good. We need a spark of genius in midfield though.
Stoke are abysmal, which does not say a lot for us. We need to find that settled line up and creativity. I really hope MR's can use the break to make this bunch get their act together and find the right 11, and formation to make it 'click'. If we don't then you would say the big cash signing of Simms and Wright are failures, and a mid table finish is the best we will see.

Godden's free header aside I'm delighted with that point.

At least Godden is at the top of the 'key chances missed' charts. Simms and Haji maintaining their top 10 position.

AM is a bit of a problem position considering we have so many. Palmer tricky but flatters to deceive, Ayari looks like a boy, O'Hare not even close to there and Allen imo living off last season atm.

Yeah it's not really working for any of them is it

Plus Sakamoto who has had a couple of ok games there without delivering much.

I think the best anyone has done at AM so far this season is probably Palmer in those opening 5 games or so. Allen had one really good game at QPR.

I'm inclined to agree even though he has me pulling my hair out. Again much like when comparing the forwards this season, it's quite a low bar.

We played a completely different formation today, there was little space in the 10 for anyone. I doubt Palmer would have been able to find the pockets of space he did in the first 5 games.

Allen was poor though going forward today though, the last couple of games he's played deeper.

Palmer would be a disaster in that formation.

If you think first half was fine then you have very low expectations

it was so so poor
First half was fine. Pretty boring, mostly played in the middle third but importantly we kept it tight. Not sure what you're expecting from side that's just lost 4 in a row, who's low in confidence and playing a different formation for the first time, with planned tactics, etc.

Second half was much better. And importantly we should some grit to dig in and make sure we didn't lose. We had the best chances too. Given the last couple of performances i'm happy that we have something to build on going into the break.

It’s been the same all season, lots of good build up play, with powder puff strikers up front letting us down match after match.
At least we didn’t get spanked 0-4 like last year.

Think 0-0 and we end losing streak.
Covcity4life is always right!

Thought it was alright today. The keeper and back 4 all played well and we didn't give Stoke a sniff. That's got to be encouraging for robins considering we have removed a CB from the formation

And we are back to having chances and not taking them. Better than zero creation.

The main issue is stil midfield. I thought sheaf and Eccles were brilliant today but we need a player who can make things happen with tehcniqie and flair.

The subs didn't work. O hare was shite and saka never got the ball. In hindsight would have been interesting to see Simms kept on.

But the losing streak is over and there is some potential with the formation.

Onwards and upwards

Second half was better when defenders started fizzing it into midfield and we had a little bit more urgency

agreed, second half was better
