Nothing regarding Robins, it's mainly the players.

Few home truths told, certain players (rightly) calling out the bollockless ones, certain coaches basically being told by players that they haven't a fucking clue
An utter mess.

You can basically see this happening out on the pitch during games, never mind behind the scenes.

We conceded a lot of very poor goals in the first few months of last season with a back 5 too. It points to something else being the problem.
Mate but Dennis was here then So I'm not sure where we are going ? The young centre halves are not up to it ?

Agreed

All in all.its a clusterfuck from what I'm hearing and there's no one with a set of bollocks big enough to sort it

Be interesting when Doug catches wind. Last time he was informed of a player losing their rag and giving Robins / coaches a volley of abuse was when he heard O'hare did just that after being hooked at half time v Albion

He promptly informed Callum that the offer on the table was withdrawn and to go fuck himself

It took Robins to convince Doug to try again to keep Callum and go back with an offer

Keen to see who gets his wrath off the back of this

Maybe crossed wires here, I've not said Dennis Lawrence was the reason why we had a strong defence up until last season. What I think is the bigger reason was that for years MR built a tightly knit group of players and staff who were on the same wavelength, were drilled within an inch of their lives and would work their backsides off for the club.

With the new intake last season, that connection was lost and this season some players look lost out there. That's a recent phenomenon, and we're losing games to less expensive but better drilled sides as a result.

To be fair I've seen and heard several well known players talking about succesful dressing rooms they were in that were like war zones, but if its happening on the pitch then no one gives a fuck.

The problem is, we're a disaster on the pitch atcthe moment.

We had warning signs at this stage last season too mind you. The striking thing was the Cardiff game where MR openly talked about shyness in the dressing room, and Godden talked about the manager wanting us to play a particular style that was nothing like what we were seeing on the pitch.

That squad at least had McF and Godden as leadership figures, this squad has nobody bar Eccles who is looking under increasing strain trying to carry the midfield.

It’s not just about Lawrence, or Viveash, or Kelly, or McFadzean. It’s all of them and not anyone with the same mentality coming in.
I think this is the bigger problem , and let's face it there isn't many managers that wouldn't struggle a bit with so much change around him is there ? I think a bit of time and adjustments are needed, and maybe a bit of leway from doug with older players

Agreed. We haven’t replaced the mental toughness of Fadz and Kelly
And with the greatest of respect to both of them, they were below champ level.

So is 'leadership' or 'bollocks' not an attribute recruitment look for... or is it a football manager simulation?

I said in one of my rants that he needs an assistant in.

And let’s be positive here there’s no transfer window for coaching staff and they cost less than players. So it’s an easy and cheap fix. Ideally we’d have it on the pitch, but if Doug won’t spring for that, then he needs to find one or two coaches to come in and bang some heads together and provide leadership off it.

This gets rubbished a lot on here but I can assure you you've hit the nail on the head.

Every international break regardless of the result, Kelly and Fadz made sure they all went for a meal and a few drinks. Each break, without fail.

Godden would arrange golf days, and to his credit O'Hare would always be game for being the one to help arrange shit

Notice the club released the vid last year of the 'team bonding' evening? It doesn't happen anymore. There is no 'you run through a brick wall for your team mate' mentality.

Whatever players like Kelly, Godden, Fadz were limited in with their play, they kept dressing rooms together, they were the link between the younger players and the management, they were the ones who would set the example

I cannot stress enough just how much we are missing that kind of mentality at the minute

I'd love to know which players think they have the right to call out others, because there aren't many! 90% of them have been fucking appalling so far.

So is the problem all at robins feet ? Because to me it sounds like a collection of problems that are all having an impact somewhere

We’ve had the same this season too. Eccles was saying pre-season that we were planning on playing exciting, front footed stuff this season. Hasn’t materialised at all and if anything we’re playing some of worst football since we’ve come up.

It just feels a little bit like the ‘Robins era’ is starting to crumble and we’re becoming one of those sides full of mediocre players who were bought for way too much, playing poor football and not getting results. The team spirit seems to have fallen off a cliff, as has the attitude within games. It is only 6 games in and it’s easy to catastrophise when you’re on a bad run and act like you’ll never win again, but god it’s just so depressing at the moment. I can’t remember a season I was more excited for than this one. Really thought we’d be up in the top six all season, playing well most week and it would be enjoyable to watch. No idea what’s happened to this team since pre-season, but hopefully we can turn it around.

Lots of theories and excuses, personalities and tantrums, fucksake, what happened to a bit of true grit ….but then when you have officials taking players off for a bit of rain and a couple of flashes of lightning what chance have we got for that 🤷‍♂️

If Robin’s had control and authority this wouldn’t happen. All over the pitch they were arguing today from early on- Allen had a strop before going off ‘injured’. Wright clearly not interested and stropping hence his exit. What a mess. Needs a leader.
