Fair result in the end.
Shootout at the Riverside for a place in the final.
Robins may well go back to the box for the away leg...Godden out and Allen in, and i'd be fine with that.
Maybe Eccles out and Sheaf in too ?

Godden finished the game having had just 12 touches in 90 minutes.

Godden offered nothing whatsoever - I expect he’ll start on Wednesday though.

Robins says during the week that there might be one or two surprises and puts out the same bloody lineup

Sheaf for Eccles
Allen for Godden

That way we pack the midfield as we were quite overrun for the first 35 mins

Fingers crossed Hamer hasn’t picked up an injury as he was rolling around quite a bit

Frustrating game for us. Their tactics worked becuase like the other day our midfield was over run. We need Sheaf and Allen back in there. I would drop Godden and put the extra midfielder on the pitch. get Hamer forward and bring on Esbrand and push forward and wide to get in behind them. We should have done that today.
But it's all square and another 90 minutes to play out. We hopefully have played our worst game of the two legs and we can now go out and express ourselves on Wednesday. All to play for...

Shots off target doesn't just mean shots that go wide or high,
The opta definition of shots on target is;
an intentional shot that goes into the net, or would have gone into the net if not for being stopped by the goalkeeper or the last defender.
So the quality of the opposition defence also defines what is a shot on target.

The other thing I thought was odd was he blew up just before 4 mins even though there was more stopage... odd one.

We can do them up there, we'll take the sprit of Meadow Lane with us. After the opening 30 minutes I would be happy with a 0-0 back then.

Our xG: 0.45
Boro's: 0.88

We can't go to Middlesbrough and play like that again, we'll not get away with it. Didn't have a real threat all game. Gyokeres kept quiet, Godden offered absolutely nothing, at all. Wilson doing a fantastic job, again. Good job, too!

But, we're still well in this tie. We just have to find another gear if we have it.

I think Boro fans will be happier with that result. However, they probably don't realise the way they will play at home suits us more than how they were today (particularly second half).

Thought it was a good game with two decent sides playing contrasting styles. If we don't do it on Wednesday I'll be rooting for the Boro even with their horrible accents.

We're still well in it and the lads love the battle and mostly unbothered by the pressure.

Would like to see Allen for Godden on Wednesday.

Boro won't play like that on Wednesday

typical cagey first leg, always needs an early goal. Thought we did pretty well second half, controlled the game better but they were well set up at the back so didn’t really give us a sniff. Still in it

Ps I think some peoples expectations were a little OTT. We’re playing a team that’s been nailed on for play offs for weeks

That makes it 20 touches since Easter.

Always funny to come on here after a game and see how people saw it. Thought we were OK, both teams had chances neither looked convincing going forwards. Robins clearly happy with a draw, and it’s classic Robins to keep it tight first half.

We didn’t really keep it tight first half, should have been 2-0 down. Just looked very passive and unambitious.

Godden seriously poor, only the ref was worse today.

Question for those calling for sheaf in, why would we play sheaf and Kelly? Both do the same job and both not great at attacking with the ball, so unless we’re going park the bus it’s either drop Kelly or leave sheaf in bench.

Drop Kelly

Drop Kelly

Controversial, because since he's been back he's been great (which I wasn't expecting). But, score in the second half at the Riverside, then bring him on for the last half an hour instead.

I'm hoping Sheaf is our secret weapon that Robins is waiting for the right time to use.

How can you be happy with that shite.
