The only criticism you can post about yesterday is we didn’t build up a lead that reflected the performance. Keep playing like that and we’ll give any team in the league a game, though Leeds look a clear cut above the rest.

The comments on opposition form and injuries overlook that we’ve been without Wright since early November and then lost EMC on top of that.

This. On here everyone’s been quite aware of opposition teams missing players.

But opposition fans so far been blissfully unaware we’ve been missing our biggest goal threats. It’s pretty strange.

I saw a video on twitter this morning showing highlights of torps game , it clearly shows asante involved In several attacks and some link up play .

Asante had a very decent game
In the first half (in particular) he kept dropping from attack into midfield and collecting the ball, and nobody in the Watford team picked him up. My mate pointed it out early on, at which point I was looking for it, and it was happening regularly. Well done him/us - poor by them.

I have always liked Torp but if he can keep up his recent form then I think he will turn out to be a better player than even I thought he would be.

He is starting to look as if he has the potential to be better than Callum O’Hare, although they are different types of player so comparisons are difficult. He doesn’t have Callum’s ability to burst past players in the box but his shooting, set piece delivery and finishing are (IMHO) better.

I agree.

We almost have two replacements for Callum O’Hare. Not quite because none of them are the same but in terms of their ability to impact a match I think they are.

It goes some way to mitigating the fact that we are unlike ever to get a proper replacement for Gus but we can cope.
We don't miss o hare

And even though gyok is top tier talent I think we have strikers that can score goals for us

But we do miss the magic of hamer imo

I could never be accused of being a Jamie Allen fan and was gobsmacked he was still here let alone playing
But fair play to the guy, he has been nothing short of brilliant these last few games , I'm a big admirer of Eccles but can't see him getting in ahead of any of the midfield trio at the moment

Only just noticed this, but the bbc report on the game contains some absolute nonsense. None of these sentences are remotely true! -
Sky Blues frontman Brandon Thomas-Asante had two good chances via Torp through-balls within the first 10 minutes, the first hitting the side netting with the other pushed out by Jonathan Bond.

With only 15 minutes to go, Watford rose to the occasion and responded at the with Sissoko's strike from the centre of the box deflecting off Sky Blues centre-half Kitching to pull one back.

Giorgi Chakvetadze then had home hearts in mouths at the CBS Arena as Coventry keeper Oliver Dovin was forced down to his left to deny the Georgian international at the near post.
