And helps the opposition by giving them the ball far too often.Although Sheaf is a good player I think he slows our momentum down at timo
This. On here everyone’s been quite aware of opposition teams missing players. The comments on opposition form and injuries overlook that we’ve been without Wright since early November and then lost EMC on top of that.
In the first half (in particular) he kept dropping from attack into midfield and collecting the ball, and nobody in the Watford team picked him up. My mate pointed it out early on, at which point I was looking for it, and it was happening regularly. Well done him/us - poor by them.I saw a video on twitter this morning showing highlights of torps game , it clearly shows asante involved In several attacks and some link up play .
Asante had a very decent game
TBF we did score with our only two shots on target.
As are rudonisI have always liked Torp but if he can keep up his recent form then I think he will turn out to be a better player than even I thought he would be.
He is starting to look as if he has the potential to be better than Callum O’Hare, although they are different types of player so comparisons are difficult. He doesn’t have Callum’s ability to burst past players in the box but his shooting, set piece delivery and finishing are (IMHO) better.
As are rudonis
We don't miss o hareI agree.
We almost have two replacements for Callum O’Hare. Not quite because none of them are the same but in terms of their ability to impact a match I think they are.
It goes some way to mitigating the fact that we are unlike ever to get a proper replacement for Gus but we can cope.
Yeah, he tends to get it and play it first or second time and a lot of the time it's forward. We're definitely passing the ball quicker, that maybe to do with Jamie Allen in the side
Sky Blues frontman Brandon Thomas-Asante had two good chances via Torp through-balls within the first 10 minutes, the first hitting the side netting with the other pushed out by Jonathan Bond.
With only 15 minutes to go, Watford rose to the occasion and responded at the with Sissoko's strike from the centre of the box deflecting off Sky Blues centre-half Kitching to pull one back.
Giorgi Chakvetadze then had home hearts in mouths at the CBS Arena as Coventry keeper Oliver Dovin was forced down to his left to deny the Georgian international at the near post.
Only just noticed this, but the bbc report on the game contains some absolute nonsense. None of these sentences are remotely true! -
The bits I highlighted in bold. BTA's second shot went wide. They scored with 8 mins left. And Dovin saved down to his right.Which ones?
Dovin did make a save and BTA did hit the side netting?
Ah I couldnt see the bold on my phone!!The bits I highlighted in bold. BTA's second shot went wide. They scored with 8 mins left. And Dovin saved down to his right.
I was sat row H, block 10 on Saturday and I have to confess - My heart was in my mouth just prior to that Dovin save right in front of us.The bits I highlighted in bold. BTA's second shot went wide. They scored with 8 mins left. And Dovin saved down to his right.
...a better save than the two at Blackburn. A Watford fan (I think) posted a video of it from their end. He gets right down with his balance exactly right, before the strike. Still some reflexesI was sat row H, block 10 on Saturday and I have to confess - My heart was in my mouth just prior to that Dovin save right in front of us.
