It’s easy to judge a player on the past, let’s see how he does on the pitch, the potential is there for JCH to kick his career on

Looks like we are in for Jordan Nicholson, he basically spent years scoring every game in non-league and about 20 odd for Nuneaton a few years back before breaking his leg.

Are you having a laugh?
IMO no im not.
Burge is OK-ish but by god, his kicking and positioning can be woeful at times.
I know you will point out we have conceded fewest goals but I'm sure most would agree its the defence rather than Burge.
So in my opinion, we need a goalkeeper who can be trusted more than Burge, if that's OK with you for me to have my input into this debate

Would personally be very optimistic if this came off.

Experienced in the higher leagues, still relatively young, plus the added benefit of playing once more for the club that he started his career with.

Would sacrifice Stevenson for this to go through, hopefully on a permanent 2 year deal!

JCH? If he signs then he should be given a chance. He certainly knows where the net is so I wouldn't be too upset to see him sign.

Seen a goal on YouTube of when he scored from a corner at sixfield season, celebrated in front of the thousands by pointing to the name on his back.

Standard thing to do when you get released by a club....

He scored at the Ricoh as well

Went mental in front of block 15 like he’d scored in the world cup

I remember that instance in front of Block 15, as long as he scores goals in Sky Blue I couldn’t care what he does

I disagree with you. Burge has been very good this season. Doubt very much you'd find a keeper who doesn't make the odd mistake at this level. Even Murphy made 3 or 4 a season which are forgotten for convenience.

I'd prefer to stick with what we've got than waste wages on JCH, all I remember about him was that he was supposedly a bad egg, caught stealing from changing rooms etc.

If he ends up scoring 30 goals I'll get his face tattooed on my back though.....

At shot stopping, sure. But distribution is terrible and hasn't shown improvement over the season, the odd wonder pass at MK excepted.

That is correct, but we shouldn’t judge the players on that.

Both Lobjoit and Baker-Richardson have turned their careers around.

Charged over to block 15
Ripped his shirt off, slid on his knees and was then holding his arms outstretched like he wanted to offer the city fans out for a fight or something

If you don't mind me replying, I disagree with you. The bloke is a mistake waiting to happen.
You look at him coming for crosses, a lot of the time he is nowhere near the ball and its the defence that gets him out the shit.
Where do I start on his kicking, fucking dreadful probably is a good place and nine times out of ten puts us back immediately back under pressure as its just gone straight out of play about forty yards up the line.
As I say I think we need a reliable and trustful keeper.

People being a bit presumptuous about JCH and the potential to wreck team spirit. We have strong characters and leaders in the dressing room, and football is littered with examples of footballers with the rotten apple tag who have moved on and been successful. This isn't a crochet society, it's a 4th division football club and having players with a bit of an edge can be turned into a positive.

As for his ability, no idea, so I defer to those who know a little more about him.
Not being presumptuous. Just saying it is something we need to be aware of that he's had an attitude in the past.

We have by a mile the best defence in the league. We don't need to worry about strengthening defence or goalkeeper, it would be a waste of valuable resources when we are in desperate need of goals.

The biggest weakness in the back 5 in my opinion is left back, but again it's not a big enough priority right now.

Yeah I remember that, was a right dickhead.

What's in common with all these stories is him scoring goals though.

I'm sure, if this rumour is true, Robins will know about attitude and stuff. I trust he'll sort any issues.

I have quoted on here 2 weeks ago that up till then he had made 61 saves and conceded a goal a game that record stands up to any in the bottom 2 divisions . He plays a part in a very good defence its goals we want to gain promotion . Shame if Stevenson goes selling our future again.

We're in division 4 ffs. Man City have been searching for a keeper with good distribution for years and they finally found one, only cost them £35m though.

Any keeper at this level is going to have weaknesses, and of all the weaknesses possible in a keeper I'm ok with Burge having poor distribution.

You've just said yourself his shot stopping is good, which is more than can be said for some keepers in this league.

Why on earth are we signing Clarke-Harris? Step completely in the wrong direction, especially if we sell Stevenson.

The bloke is an absolute piece of work.

I think this will turn out to be a bad move.
