Sort of how you didn't read one of my first posts when I made a prediction based solely on there form at the end of last season and you started barking on about players they have signed
Nobody knows anything in the future for sure but we can still make predictions on what the most likely outcome would be using the facts and information

Which you didn't do. Read all of your first post - you didn't do any research, just a prediction based on form after Christmas without considering their signings. So, call my stuff drivel if you want but I was taking a bit more notice of the club he's gone to.

I was using it as an initial indicator, how you do the previous season is a good indicator to how you will do the following season. Usually the same teams are involved in the lower half battle whilst the same clubs will be competing for the play off places. You get a few anomalies but normally this is a good indicator so it is likely Barnsley will be struggling again.
I then looked at there signings and no one they had signed changed my opinion
Then you went off on one about how you are not psychic when I said if we had stayed up everyone would predict another struggle for us (which would be true) to back up my point that the previous season is a good indicator of how you will do the following season.
Basically you just started arguing the opposite of what I was saying without any reasoning just to be different

No I didn't, when I made the point about how people would predict a struggle for us if we had stayed up you wouldn't give a straight answer and you knew I was right. You started going on how about people are not physic and anything could happen.
Does this mean nobody should ever make another prediction again because anything could happen in the future?

I was well aware I wasn't taking into account all the information when I made the initial prediction, which is why I thought I would make it clear my prediction only took into account how they finished last season and not who they had signed after that which is what I stated but your pea sized brain couldn't grasp that concept so you didn't pick me up on anything no matter how much you would like to think you did

Have you seen some of the powerhouse names Barnsley have signed, don't be so quick to judge a club like Barnsley. Just because everything points towards them languishing near the bottom of the table and maybe a relegation, you are not qualified to make that prediction as you are not physic and anything could happen

Barnsley fan here..
We haven't signed Martin Cranie. Yet.
He's here training with us, and I believe there may be a chance for him.
We've been looking for another ball-playing center half, and Keith Hill loves his utility players, so I think Cranie would be a good fit.
And at 25, he's still got his best years ahead of him, and if Keith can polish him up ala Jimmy McNulty, we could at some point - all being well - make a large profit on the lad.
We get them cheap/free, polish them up, and sell them on. It's the Barnsley way. See Jacob Butterfield, Ricardo Vaz Te for examples.
And next up (allegedly) will be either Luke Steele, Matty Done, or McNulty.
We're a selling club, a small club (in terms of budget/support) in this division, and we live within our means.
It's not exciting, and at times it's very frustrating seeing your better players leave, but we've always had to do it, save for the late 90's, and if it means we survive as a club, and keep retaining our second tier status (76 seasons and counting at this level) then it's better than the alternative.
I noticed a few derogatory comments in this thread - it's what we expect - and each to their own.
And to be fair, we did drop like a stone after February last season.
The losses of Butterfield and Vaz Te hurt us, for sure. But we also lost Steele, Done, Bobby Hassell, Jim O'Brien, and David Perkins to injury. As well as losing the loan talents of Danny Drinkwater.
Keith's attempts to solve these issues proved fruitless, in the loan market, hence the dramatic slump.
However, we've strengthened this summer with some quality players, and I'm hopeful of a better campaign.
A lot of Keith's signings last year were from the nether regions, and last season was a first taste for many of them, of this particular division.
The same goes for Keith himself - his first year at this level.
So it's to be hoped that both he and his squad of players have learned, a lot.
Anyhoo, good luck for the season ahead, and I hope to see you back in the second tier in 12 months time.
