What happened to the 2 year plan then? ;)

Do we only start talking about that again when we drop down to 7th? ;)

I think when you've been in the top 1-4 for half a season, you've got to try and take that chance.

I still believe in the 2 year project, but we are going to lose Armstrong and Murphy, and also very likely to lose Maddison and possibly fleck in the summer.

I've never bought into the 2 year plan. You look at what is in front of you and go out to achieve the highest position. I think when people talk about 2 year plans that can be seen in some ways of just dismissing the current season.

Next season there could be very strong teams coming down from the Championship and it could well be a lot tougher and yep, I'm like you, there's no guarantee that next season we can get another Armstrong or Murphy, or that even if we do, that they will be a success.

This is the season for me, but as I say, I look and see we need improvement, yet are only 4 points behind top place. That's a very good place to be.

We strengthen and I am going to be very confident.

Also hoping for big things from Lorentzson too. Hopefully he can help really solidify the defence.

Depends what you call messing up I suppose which depends on aspirations. If finishing top 2 is the ambition then just not losing games is probably not enough and not winning games such as Oldham, Doncaster,Chesterfield or today could be considered "messing up". If play offs is the ambition then there is a lot more margin for error

Spot on.

If we really have the best manager, two premier league stars, the best striker in the division, a player some fans would consider not accepting a bid of £10 million for, a star in the making on the right side of midfield then surely that squad should be ahead of Burton and Walsall.

You have to factor key injuries too though. Just look at our back four at the moment. I know all sides get injuries, but it seems that we have key players who we really struggle to do without.

Also the fact that Armstrong is only 18 and seemingly a bit fatigued at the moment has hurt us too. He will come back strong I'm sure and once we have strengthened the back four I'm sure we'll do better as a team. RCC wobbled for a few games as well.

I like Joe Cole, but do feel TM may have made a bit of an error in trying to accommodate him into the team too early and that unbalanced us somewhat. Get the feeling if he wasn't so high profile, he wouldn't have got the starts that he has had.

There's been a few little things and some key absences. We struggle without Fleck and Ricketts and no-one else is really stepping up to the plate when Armstrong fails to deliver.

Hoping TM has some quality loans or signings in this window that can help us push on.

Grendel quotes the presence of a 10 m player...who has been missing most of our season. A 2 year plan ahead of schedule with the most important half of the season still ahead of us.

This is my point (put somewhat better than I did). I would have snatched the proverbial hand off if at the start of the season I`d been offered to be where we are now at this stage, but now we are here I agree for the reasons already outlined on here that the team should be trying for the autos as it`s target. On that basis the NEW City are missing out on too many wins.

Today`s game is not a "must win" but it is the sort of game we should be winning if we are to mount a serious challenge for the auto.

Habers a handful. If it's stokes and Ricketts centre half he will give them a torrid time.

Haber is crap but he's exactly the sort of striker we have struggled against since we dropped into this division.

People throw around the must win tag willy-nilly but no match at this point in the season is a must win for any side.

We haven't been playing well but still not loosing so if this is our bad patch I will certainly take it. With armo resigning I think the morale will increase and push on for the win. 2-1 Sky Blues

We definitely have been going through a dodgy patch and hopefully it has now ended so we can get back to winning ways

I never like to take the piss too much before the game about we are going to hammer other teams, usually back fires!

I know it's a lot easier to say when we're four goals up and all, but saying that we'd be lucky to get a point at a side at the bottom when we've spent the entire season in the top six is a bit pessimistic even for Cov fans.
