Only due to a points deduction. Check out how many teams get promoted with a reduction - few and far between.

We are the 6th best team in the league - you seem desperate to deny this and rubbish the club at every turn but that's the fact.

no i dont.

more than happy we won today, but doesnt matter how many times we all say "we should be 6th", its simply not going to happen. Feel free to give the FL a bell at the end of the season and try and reason with them to see if they can accomodate us in the play offs. I think you will struggle. Non footballing reasons mean we can not compete in the league this season !

The team won - the fact is they are the joint 6th best team in the league despite people trying to convince themselves otherwise.

You do know that CCFC went bust under Sisu and should have lost 15 points?

Seriously though with Pressley and last years money and venue we would be contenders for straight promotion.
In fact if we could just have kept Clarke we would be easily in the playoffs.

Correct and look at the negativity on this thread. Forecasts of defeats, complaints at negative tactics , Italia saying they are crap and no commitment - the silence is defeaning now.

I'm having my tea and listening to the wifes day

They were poor without doubt.
It's worse when you have made the commitment to go to the match and you see a poor team have 70% possession.

The 2 goals were our only highlights, although the defence started to put there bodies on the line, literally.

I know but all I'm saying is did we really play well.
Their players collapsed at the end threw everything at us but just weren't good enough on the day.

But hey doesn't mean I am not happy overall.

What a pathetic statement. ACL rejected the CVA. Your blind ignorance is embarrasing.

I'm beginning to pity you. Mainly as you seem condemned to live in Scunthorpe..

Pressley is the best Manager we have had since Jimmy Hill. He recognised the need to tighten up
at the back with some experienced players and managed to find some. Pruton obviously does not
take prisoners--he flattens them with hard but mostly fair tackles. True grit as arrived in the team
and will make us hard to beat for the rest of the season.

The big question is can we hold on to Callum?

ACL rejected the CVA since it it did not give them the rent to which they were entitled. If you sign an agreement then you stick to it! That is how I have been brought up. Don't pity me; Living in Scunthorpe is great. We have a bustling town centre and a football team doing very well.....the town is buzzing!

It did not matter that ACL rejected the CVA--the Tax man Rejected it anyway--so whichever way you look at it
we would still have had the 10 point penalty. Further more if your beloved sisu had paid their dues the situation
would not have arisen.

ACL rejection was as a result but not the cause. You need to delve deeper, but you know that !!!!

They would have accepted the CVA if Sisu had dropped the JR, so either the JR is more important and potentially damaging to ACL than most seem to think, or the money didn't mean that much to them.

Tax man always rejects. Their vote had no effect on result. It was ACL that caused the rejection and cost us the only chance of going up. In my opinion it was a spiteful move. Yes Sisu went into admin but only after they tried to force us into admin.
Fact, ACL rejecting have them nothing but caused every fan to loose the chance of seeing us in the playoffs.

And no, I don't like Sisu bit I'm gutted for what should have been.

Oh your poorly informed almost as much as ccfcway. They would have agreed the CVA if the judicial review was dropped.

A class above his outfield colleagues. More energy, more desire, and crucially, more ability. One of the best players to come through here in years.

And ACL also are to blame for selling Clarke and not reinvesting in Jan. Also ACL are to blame for not having a short term rental agreement whilst the new stadium is built. ACL are to blame for not announcing the location for the new stadium location 3 weeks after the announcement. The trust are to blame for siding with ACL, Higgs are to blame for asking for their money.

Sounds like Pressley is going to adapt a new style to win games
It's not even about the style as much, its more mentality

We'd dominate 70 minutes and score 1 goal and the opposition would dominate for 20 minutes and score 2/3 goals. For the most of season as soon as you put us under proper pressure we'd crumble and concede, hopefully the last two games are a turning point as we stood up to the pressure.

We won I'm glad we won, I would rather play badly and win, then play well and lose. BUT that was a dire game of football from both teams, no lack of effort or determination but lacking in skill. Webster was lucky not to concede a penalty in the first half both hands on their striker's shirt. Playing a back 5 with 2 further defensive midfielders meant we played very deep and kept on booting the ball high to Callum. Disappointed with Prutton did nothing of note, liked Anton, Baker had a very poor game when he came on. Murphy and Callum are class acts and will be missed.

1st game for a while today, really don't care how good or bad the performance was, 3points is all that counted today. We have given ourselves a 8 point margin going into a hard run in. Think we should be safe now but taking the performance into consideration this could easily be our last win of the season. Rode our luck at time, half decent team would have put us away 2nd half
