We have no idea what Lampard thinks of Austin. That will be the key. Our recent recruitment has been odd. I was amazed we pursued Binks and personality wise I’d have gone for different to Dovin. But the real issue is we haven’t recruited based on a firm game plan. The squad is very unbalanced. But I’ve no idea if that’s Austin, Robins or King.
Lampard said multiple times in his press conference that he likes the squad & made particular reference to how balanced it is.

You saw he stating he couldn't choose who came in. You tried to call it click bait.

So what would you like to spin the position of Austin to be?

Robins had the say on transfers. Austin was personally recruited by Robins.

You really are not the most ASTUTE poster on here are you?

Was he?

Where did you get that from? I'm sure King changed the structure.

He replaced Badlan as Head of Recruitment and was appointed by Robins when Sisu still owned the club

Have read the link you put up on the subject where you said it showed he was friends with Robins. It didn't mention them being friends or he was chosen by Robins.

Sigh

“I have known him for the best part of 20 years, knew him as a player, played against him when he was at Tottenham,” said Robins. “We have been on courses together and did our pro-licence together. He works his socks off every time I have seen him – when he was scouting for Southend he was in the car all the time, off to games and doing his pro-licence, his energy is incredible."

“He has been working for both Blackpool and St Albans City, and been instrumental in setting up their scouting network and processes. He is process driven and has good eyes. Because he’s been a player as well, he has a good set of eyes on him that can bring us some talent that we can hopefully sign, and moving forward, hopefully we can improve again.

“That’s what he has been tasked with. There’s a lot in his inbox at the moment so he has to make sure he goes through that methodically and make sure we get ready for both January and the summer.”

What are you trying to achieve exactly?
I would have achieved much more than Austin with 35 mill

Amazing how everything I’ve said past few months has come to fruition

I said we kept 3 keepers and here we are with collins in goal still

I said the team lacks passion or desire

doesn’t matter who manager is, this team are mentality weak and not good enough

King said if we’re on 25 points at Christmas then it’s a cause for concern. well we’re behind that.

this club is heading downwards while we have Austin at the club

I think he'll be gone at the end of the season.
If he's still here in January, and surely he will be, will King trust him to make any major moves?

Or are we now writing off the season and hoping we stay up with a major squad overhaul in the summer. We all know that tends to mean writing off a decent chunk of next season while new players settle in.

The problem is always going to be when results don't go the way you want everyone looks at who to blame... This situation is and should be put at the players door. They lack passion responsibility and desire to change the way it's going. Before we had Fadz, Kelly and Gooden who had a big say in players meetings and conduct. We replaced those 3 with very young inexperienced players who are not exactly full of confidence I what they are doing never mind anyone else.

Someone or a few need to get brought in that will buy into FL and his coaches instructions. This is going to be tough to turn around but Jan is going to be a important few weeks to make sure some foundations are laid not just for the rest of the season but for the start of the next. Massive job to change mentality and get a few leaders that will push a philosophy and bring a culture in the dressing room

What we're Austins credentials to get appointed head of recruitment?

Looking at his previous he was a coach/manager in his previous roles.

Yet out of Robins, Viveash, Lawrence and Boddy he's the only one left and was sat next to king at the forum after Robins sacking.

There are people on this board that wouldn't know if they were pissing down their own leg

He needs to leave. He has no track record of being a top scout let alone head of recruitment. Between him and Robins they’ve pissed up the money.
