My trainers in the training school. Harry was the boss when I was in there. Spent nearly 2 years in there because of the financial trouble Herberts were in.

Remember scraping the plate in on the fitting and trying to get it dead flat, and get a decent pattern.
Told lads at college from other factories and they didn’t know how to scrape, no wonder we were the crème de la crème
Was it fun? Or is it just nostalgia?

I remember when I was an apprentice at the Climax scraping slides for days/weeks on end in the machine tool fitting shop. The blokes in there played Radio 2 all fucking day, happy days.
