CET putting BTA in for EMC 😂
If we get the version of BTA in Jan that scored a few goals (some worldies), I don’t have a problem if he plays. However, if it’s the version we saw on Saturday, then I’m a little concerned. The thing is we need to be able to rotate players in and out to keep everyone fresh, fit and hungry. With the Sunderland match coming up, FL may feel a need to give others a chance especially against a team we should have enough quality and depth to win against.

Agree re BTA.

In slight fairness, we bought him on in his most un natural position, wide left. Hes a striker you tell to just run around and be a nuisance. Putting him in more of a structure, wide of front 3 is dangerous as proved.

That change really started to loose us momentum Saturday, as did taking Simms off in my view.

Im expecting a few changes, Bidwell in, Sheaf in at least.

Would say in his defence, BTA is not a winger. If we are bringing him on it should be because we are changing shape and putting on two strikers. Should of been Paterson or Wright

The meltdown on here when we do eventually lose with be tragic and over the top
For me I’m trying to temper my excitement of where we find ourselves and the potential for a really positive end to the season
The danger is you don’t get to enjoy what’s happening and we should enjoy it!
All the podcasts for the city were so downbeat and negative about everything other than the result on Saturday and I get it we’re used to being shit
There are no teams that have won 6 extra points scoring added time goals in the last 5-6 games
Simms at sheff wed
Bobby b qpr and now Stoke
Instead of focusing on the drive and commitment people wanna focus on not winning by more or letting a goal in
Understandable but come on guys let’s be excited and when we eventually do lose let’s not go full on I’ve been proved right I knew dovin or JDs or Simms or mve or Lati or whoever would cost us

We just need to make sure when/if we do lose, we have some breathing space above the teams below.

Saying that, I'm convinced we're now making the Play Offs and I'm turning up genuinely expecting us to win every game 😂

I bet the first line of your post proves to be incorrect.
Not that this place is adverse to that type of reaction but I think people appreciate its been an incredible run but it can't ho on forever.

When Stoke equalised Saturday there was almost like an 'oh well it had to end sometime' reaction to it.

Fortunately Bobby Thomas had other ideas!

Some people around me sounded like they were losing their heads on Saturday when Stoke equalised, but that was probably due to the nature of blowing a 2-0 lead as well

They will start if fit and wont if not. Resting them wont be an option im sure. Great chance to go several points clear of 7th
Fans seem desperate to rest and rotate - presumably in a desire to appear strategic - but until you reach the top end of the Premiership, managers seem to always prefer the 'best team' regardless.

If MVE is fit he will play - we have no quality cover
If EMC is fit he will play - if there is a doubt then Wright if considered fully fit comes in. If not then no matter how inadequate BTA.
It's a logic puzzle

This re-writing history through tinted spectacles

Nah I think Eccles was good at RWB, and said as much at the time. But his competition was a lot worse than MvE!

Away at Sheffield Wednesday in the Cup, January '24.

He has never played RB for us. If MVE is unavailable and we're sticking with the formation then I'm sure Lati will play RB.
Yeah my thoughts too. Why I think we should change shape to a 3 at the back if Milan can’t start.

Apart from his first match there against Sunderland away, he has been good there. Don't think Lamps sees him in that role.

He had a bad first half but got better as the game went on. Jack Clarke giving him a bit of a baptism by fire, but he came through. Let's face it Jack Clarke causes a lot of defenders problems.

I would hope Frank puts out his best team of fit enough players, but when we change things it needs to fit, Asante on the left Saturday just changed everything, we seemed to lose shape and energy, hopefully Wright can play 60 mins and then bring Paterson on on the left, if we need Asante if Simms needs to come off then it should be in the middle where he is more comfortable

Felt more like the shape was lost when Sims. Came off as we lost the focal point down the middle as wright wanted to drift wide

A midfield of Allen, Torp and Grimes with Eccles as RB would be interesting to see.
From what I remember Eccles was decent enough at RWB and I'd prefer him over Lati, who's definitely better in a back 3.

Working on the assumption that MVE and EMC need a break at the very least.

Is harsh as pushes Sakamoto out but don’t think he could play any of the positions in the formation and feel without Milan I’m not overly comfortable with a fullback.

Eccles did well here before so feel he could play this one before we switch back to a 4-3-3 as others have said.

If wright/ sheaf not fit to start would play BTA and Allen

This is what I’d do too except BTA for Wright as he’s been well off it since coming back. He can stay as impact sub until after the international break when he’s better prepared.

Also people forget BTA was good at the start of this run in the 5-3-2 and can definitely do a job for this game
