Alsop are an estate agency not solicitors. They also operate in the middle east I believe. So do you agree if we were well run or in the championship? Reason I ask is that being well run doesn't necessarily mean you'll be promoted. The same as throwing money at it doesn't guarantee promotion. I'm basing my opinion on the fact football is bigger, I would also argue that CCFC is a bigger name than Wasps, despite our current league. Basing it on Wasps attracting Ericsson for the hall, on having concerts, tennis and snooker. Yet after two years not finding a sponsor for the stadium.
You disagree with my opinion and reasoning behind it, which is fine. What do you believe is the reason Wasps have yet to secure naming rights?
Football is definitely bigger than rugby no question.
4th division football is not bigger than Wasps. Which is why Wasps have sponsorship deals with Land Rover, EMC, DS Smith, Lear Corp
Global companies employing 10's of thousands to 100's of thousands of people.
We have Allsop, no disrespect that have done brilliantly for themselves but they are no Land Rover.
You must realise the difference between the two clubs when you see that alone.
We are purely potential, unfortunately. I see running a club well as making good decisions that are for the best of the football club. Decisions that are made on behalf of this club currently are made on what is the best for SISU. Not CCFC. CCFC comes 4th in the decision making process behind SISU and a couple of its related companies.
It is not all about throwing money at it, however you do need some investment and it needs to be used wisely.
I believe Wasps want too much for it. I don't think they offer the marketing pull we offered when Ricoh were signed up.
I think Wasps need a similar if not better deal than the one Ricoh signed up to before. I don't think they will get that as it stands at the moment.
However signing us up to a 10 year rental won't change that either.
I think the way the Ricoh has been over the last 7-8 years puts people off paying that premium.
However I have a horrible feeling if Wasps get rid of SISU once and for all and continue their own on field success. Plus if they make a success of the concerts through next year.
I think they will get their deal.
