I know its the first game , but lets look at a couple things .
1.if we persist with this formation , i will be suprised if we arent struggling fairly soon , no width , confusion , very little creation.
2.very worried that preslley has said he has no intentions of getting a midfielder , thomas brings absolutely nothing to the team ...nothing ,fleck has so much more to offer .
3. 5 at the back and still ship 3 , webster is a liability , johnson despite his goals seems a liability , clarke again , doesnt really bring much to the team and may aswell have sat on the corner flag all game ...never went forward .Pugh and willis seem our only assured defenders .
4.im concerned that pressley found some positives in this match , where , we invited them on all game really , had very little attacking threat , played most of our passing game just outside our own box blah blah .
VERY POOR today , extremely dissapointed
A serious question: when was the last game that we weren't really poor?
Or more specifically when did we last defend well?
Today was encouraging. To be so close. On another day we get the winner. Just we are Coventry city and we lose these games. 50-50 game and we lose. Always will happen.
It is gutting. Needs to sort out back to 4-4-2 and get rid of Thomas and we will just avoid relegation IMO.
Keep shipping 3 goals and relegation is certain.
Based on one game? With 7 players making their debuts?
Let's not get ahead of ourselves here.
Against one of the weakest teams in the division.
New sides need time to settle.
Think a few people are getting ever so suicidal on the back of one single game.
Let's see how it goes. You either believe in SP or you don't. I for one, do and therefore I think if the system isn't working he will be wise and honest enough to change it.
It's just one single game. And for that very same reason how can we say Bradford are one of the weakest teams? They may look so on paper, but the game isn't played on paper is it.
Leyton Orient, one of the best sides in League One last season, lost at home to today to Chesterfield, who too are being touted as one of the weaker sides who may struggle in Lague One. Let's not get all doom and gloom on the back of one single football result.
I like Pressley and think we can't do better, but what has he ever done to suggest he spots weaknesses in the side and addresses them?

He has changed the shape and formation has he not? That shows he is willing to try different systems. He is not stubbornly sticking to just one way of playing come hell or high water is he, like some other managers do. He is willing to change and try new things.
What is there to suggest he is going to stick with wing backs whatever the cost?
Would throw it back at you. What has he done to suggest he doesn't spot weaknesses? If he sticks with this system for a number of games and it doesn't work, but he persists with it and changes nothing, then I will agree with you that he doesn't spot weaknesses in his systems, Shmmeee.
This is just one single game though and already some people are in a state of despair about it and fear for the entire season. I find that just plain daft.
We are a club that is in decline,, that is a fact and with the squad getting weaker each season unless something changes with the decision makers we will carry on downward.. One game means nothing but a pattern in the way you lose is the same as a pattern in the way the club is ran brings people to see only one way..
We concede far to many goals and lose in the same manner, it's not a judgement on 1 game or even a judgement on the other team it's the pattern that's scary..
Kingokings204......"Football is about winning games. 4 wins in 24 is horrendous and needs addressing. We go into next game against favourites for the league. Great."...........................................................................SBK says Any other manager would have been sacked 10 games ago, but nobody dare say sack SP for fear of being slagged off on the forum. So I'll say this...I'll give him another 10 games then he should go if there's no improvement.
We sold one quality striker and replaced him with 3 average ones. Always asking for trouble....
Well, big worry if true, but we need to give them a chance. They could prove to be good acquisitons for us, who knows. Remember McGoldrick. When we got him we all thought it was a bad signing and his goalscoring record was very poor. Maybe one of our new strikers will replicate that same sort of form for us.
Sometimes a player just slots in at the right club and really shines.
Numbers of games are absolutely ridiculous, the manager's either doing the right thing or they're not.
Not like after 9 games, a win in the 10th all is sweetness and light, a loss and it isn't, is it?
Either the manager's implementing the strategy well (and results will turn eventually if so, anyway) or he isn't... and if he isn't, he should go regardless of timing.
