‘I’m alright Jack’ thinking then.Beer was 10p a pint when I was a lad, not £6 plus. Should people today feel disadvantaged? It’s the way things have panned out.
I didn’t say that, I was asking if people today should feel disadvantaged because beer has gone up in price.‘I’m alright Jack’ thinking then.
You speak as though my wife and I didn’t scrimp and save to pay a deposit about 10 times the value of the house my grandparents bought. Many people in those days scrimped and saved to buy a house so that they had something tangible to leave to their heirs. Who now criticise the process,

It is indeed. He even seems to resent his own grandparents - it’s tragic really
The politics of envy is never far from a socialist’s heart.Boomers have had it so tough
Actually, fuck it.
I AM alright Jack. Do you know why? Because I worked bloody hard in a stressful job, working 50% hours on top of my contract unpaid, climbing back up the ladder after three redundancies and finally retiring at 67, paying shed loads of tax along the way.
And I’ve just decided I am not ashamed of that.
Actually, fuck it.

There it is.
Young people just need to work hard.
Boomers gonna boom.
And you speak as though the people here don’t work hard currently. Nobody is trying to invalidate the life’s work of past generations.Actually, fuck it.

Despite your repeated attempts in this thread to boast I am not envious or jealous.
You have got it in one. There it is.

Everyone has to work hard - unless of course they are given a seat on the board at their parents business and benefit from selective education
Point me to where I have boasted, please.Despite your repeated attempts in this thread to boast I am not envious or jealous.
You have got it in one.
You couldn’t be more wrong. Pretty offensive statement that.He even seems to resent his own grandparents - it’s tragic really
Don't worry, a couple of decades of socialism will ensure you're ok.I think by the time most of us get there the state pension won't exist.
You couldn’t be more wrong. Pretty offensive statement that.
I’m pointing out that I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth. And you speak as though the people here don’t work hard currently. Nobody is trying to invalidate the life’s work of past generations.
But it’s a well accepted reality that my generation is the first one to find itself worse off economically than the one before.
I’m pointing out that I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth, or up my nose.
Me neither, lived on a council estate up to the age of 11, went to Grammar School. Started my own business at 32 and done rather well since then.I’m pointing out that I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth.
Nobody said you were. Nor that I loathe my grandparents.I’m pointing out that I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth.

However, the example of their house value is just a striking one that shows how house prices have risen much further than inflation with big consequences for people renting and buying today.
People work hard today and pay tax the same as you did, you doing unpaid work is not virtuous and you're hardly unique in thatActually, fuck it.

I paid toward my own fees and then paid back a fair bit once I started earning. Not that I actually had a say in where I went to school mind youOr like him was afforded the opportunity of a private education

The thing is Ernie, nobody except shmmeee and PVA are getting the government they really want.Genuinely surprised at the pessimism on here. You're about to get the government you want with effectively no opposition. It's likely they will government for at least a decade.
Why are you not looking forward with unbridled optimism?
Is it because you know that socialism wont significantly improve your life?
