There is a good reason for not overlapping rural and urban constituencies as the needs are quite different. Just weighting things more in favour of the south exacerbates the bias already there
Agree about the challenges around rural/urban constituencies. Its a tricky balance between serving the constituency and then MPs forming part of central government. The latter is why I think constituencies should be broadly equal in populations though
Ps last thing any of us want is a more London/south centric government focus. Not sure government do either bearing in mind there’s more left leaning support down there
