Like BorisYeah. The party is both anti-immigration and pro- big business/rich. But those to are incompatable. For business to make huge profits low-wage immigration is absolutely vital.
IF he got into power he would definitely put big business ahead of immigration. Trouble is he'd still find ways to blame others for the immigration situation not being sorted out and there'd be plenty in his personality cult willing to swallow it for quite a long time.

Says Lee Anderson who has had more parties than most of us have had in our lifetimes lol
It would be magical to see Big Nige as PM (for about a week anyway) just so I can enjoy the glorious meltdown on page 2146 of this thread. I have a feeling the country might tire of their decision even quicker than this time though
Im not sure how hiring more people to ensure more people get benefits is austerity but sure. Buzz word I guess.
More bold decisions against a pointless media storm whipped up by middle class women. Why on earth taxpayers should compensate women for not checking their mail for 15 years I’m not sure.
Starmer derangement syndrome sure gets you angry at some weird stuff.

Forget the campaign, it's about what the Ombudsman has said:
Women’s State Pension age: our findings on the Department for Work and Pensions’ communication of changes | Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO)
Our report highlights failings in the way the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) communicated changes to women’s State Pension age. You can read the full report here or download a PDF (1MB).www.ombudsman.org.uk
28 months of state pensionWhat do you think the compensation should be for a 28 month delay in communications over a very well publicised and communicated benefit change they had 15 years to prepare for?
It’s an absolutely ludicrous claim.
I totally disagree regarding Chancellor Reeves. She is top class and her budget was aimed at creating a solid foundation for the country after the terrible previous administration.I think Reeves is awful but she can't be blamed particularly for both quarters. Until she realises that restoring household spending power is the aim, not vague GDP growth she'll get nowhere .
You mention the "terrible previous administration" yet what she's doing is almost exactly the same just with sparkly new names (which are about the only remotely imaginative thinking that has gone into it). And unsurprisingly we're getting the same results - stagnant growth that is in fear of becoming a contraction if we cut too hard and thus reduce spending in the economy while at the same time increasing govt expenditure required to cover the welfare etc that that entails.I totally disagree regarding Chancellor Reeves. I thought her Budget speech was excellent. Maybe too many digs at previous government even if they were reckless.
Rachel Reeves is a...brilliant woman with lots of well thought out, practical ideas. She's ensuring the financial security of this country for years to come. Oh, yes, and her adherence to the Ministerial Code is above reproach.I totally disagree regarding Chancellor Reeves. It won't create a solid foundation and is more likely to exacerbate the situation rather than solve it. Her economic ethos is basically a Tory one.
Yes.
While clowns like you in the centre are hugely invested in Maggie Thatcher's rhetoric. That’s just not true. For a start she’s actually budgeting for the things they’re promising. And not putting off decisions like prisons and WASPI and a million other things. And as always the left have bought the rights media campaign hook line and sinker.
But budgeting in the same way the Tories did - projecting growth to cover at least part of the shortfall when that almost always ends up being optimistic, especially using the kind of methods she is. Which means those budgets end up being worthless and 'budgeted for' stuff ends up getting dropped further down the line because growth projections never materialise. That’s just not true. Reeves might think she's a smart budget holder but most of her decisions are insane politically. Who'd have thought the right wing press wouldn't continue the soft soap treatment forever.
Yep it’s the new age of wanting everything without taking any responsibility expanded and magnifiedLol what soft soap treatment? It doesnt help that the left have been spitting their dummy either. Rather a fascist than a centrist I guess.
The hysteria is ludicrous. People need to get a grip. All Labour have done so far is take decisions any government will have had to. The complete lack of understanding those whining have shown is astounding quite frankly.

Our nhs!!! Fuck off im not paying any more for it
We need housing fuck off not next to my house
What about our British values of fairness justice and equity fuck off let foreigners die in the sea
So that's what the Tories did for the past 14 years then.Lol what soft soap treatment? It doesnt help that the left have been spitting their dummy either. Rather a fascist than a centrist I guess.

Centre left at best and wfa and waspi is more centrist as is the immigration approachSo that's what the Tories did for the past 14 years then.
Sure, they had to take decisions. But those decisions are choices - they could continue with the dogma of the past 14 years of failure or they could try something different that involved investing in people and society rather than taking things from them. That is why people on the left are angry - it's a supposedly left wing govt getting crucified for centre-right policies which will result in the right wing getting back in again in a few years.
If we'd tried some proper left wing policies and they'd failed and the right got back in I could stomach that. But for them to fail just largely copying what the right wing have done and it being blamed on them being left wing will be a massive piss-take.
It remains to be seen what improvements in public services are coming, the budget committed real terms increases against last year but no further than that. Given what's happened over the past 14 years, and the ageing of the population over that period, it needs to go much further.Under the Tories we were complaining that they’d fucked public services and that the poor and disabled were fucked.
Now it’s complaints that middle class Janet had to sell the arga to fund her daughter’s reiki course or that Andrew Lloyd Webber might have to sell a field to pay his tax bill.
The the thickies like ESB have all been activated by Elmo and are parroting any old nonsense they’re told and the lefties are still upset they backed a joke candidate five years ago and haven’t got over it.
Fast starting to think the country gets what it deserves. Just wish my kids didn’t live here.
A Labour minister has been named in an investigation into claims her family embezzled up to £3.9bn (Tk 590 billion) from infrastructure projects in Bangladesh.
Tulip Siddiq, who as the Treasury's Economic Secretary is responsible for tackling corruption in UK financial markets, is alleged to have brokered a deal with Russia in 2013 that overinflated the price of a new nuclear power plant in Bangladesh.
My cousin has just had an email saying the CCC is cutting services for adults with learning disabilities next year. Is the Labour council going to blame the Labour government for cutting services for the most vulnerable?
