I agree, but praising it is equally hilarious. It was absolute toss.

Used to hit my wife... thank God the Gilette ad showed me the error of my ways. Absolute pile of shit. Some of you really do eat up this bollocks.

There’s nothing to eat up. It is a load of nonsense but getting upset about it is hilarious.
Very good David, you gormless chav rat.T
Tracksuit tom with a thick as fuck take on things yet again.
I understand all publicity is good publicity, unless you are Prince Andrew. But the advert was not excellent, it was condescending tripe... most people know what it and isn't acceptable and those that don't won't have their minds changed by an advert from a Razor Blade company.
Also I see nothing to suggest sales went up, articles seem to suggest they stayed roughly the same.

I think I've missed an advert. Is it really worth getting so het up about?
I think I've missed an advert.
Anyway, from what I read here, somebody can pick me up if I've got the description wrong. An advert says hitting women is wrong, being a caring bloke who actively says that is a good thing to be. Is that about the gist of the advert?
Well no wonder it washed over my head then. Nowt to get upset about with a message saying bullying women is a bad thing.Pretty much.
Tbf like Tampons it's overpriced.Nope, it was superb. Sales increased after the advert, the whole world was talking about them. If you can't see that controversy, attention & a huge spotlight helps brands then you're missing the point totally. All the silly outrage & anger is just that- silly, it was the exact reaction they wanted, you couldn't get better publicity and advertising. They even say themselves they wanted to have something which got people talking in a big way, as they were being hit by the rise of beards & cheaper competition.

I'm pretty sure their sales slumped. Bizarre move shitting all over their own customer base.

So just support c***ish behaviour because of the effect it'll have on your bottom line? If you had a problem with the Gillette ad is says more about you than them. If you don't partake in or accept the behaviour they're decrying in that ad you've got no problem with it because it's not calling you out.
Loads of businesses lost out from ending slavery and child labour. Virtue signalling twats.
Sales increased? What world do you live in.
Nobody trusts a man with a beard, they've always got something to hide. They've got big problems with beards
I’m sure they sell to non bigots too, every shaving brand slumped the last few years, everyone’s got beards.
You didn’t strike me as a cancel culture fan anyway.
I think they need to rename the off topic chat as the left wing padded room.
Some people really need their heads checking.
errrr... the real one? Sales increased directly after the ad. They've got big problems with beards & competition, the ad held things up for them. It worked. You're still not able to grasp this concept, but it was mainly thanks to people like you- frothing away about all the "virtue signalling"
Nobody trusts a man with a beard, they've always got something to hide.
P&G posts strong sales, takes $8 billion Gillette writedown
Procter & Gamble Co's <PG.N> quarterly revenue and adjusted profit beat Wall Street expectations on Tuesday, sending shares to a record-high even as the world's No.1 personal goods company took an $8 billion charge on its Gillette shaving business.www.reuters.com
Gillete had an 8 billion dollar writedown. What planet are you on?
Lockdown was a fine opportunity for me to practice various beard styles.Beards are handy though- I can get away with not shaving much longer on the basis people assume I'm growing a beard, when in actual fact I am too lazy to shave.
An ugly face usually.

What is it,?Nobody trusts a man with a beard, they've always got something to hide.
lol- have you read the articles & facts? You really should.
That isn't an argument.
The company lost a lot of money because people won't swallow the narrative they put out about men. Yes, people are shaving less, but to pretend that this 8 billion drop also had nothing to do with the advert is delusional.
You said their sales went up. What next? You gonna try and tell us water isn't wet?
So you are saying that all their issues were connected to that advert?
You sure about that? Keep reading up, you'll get there- hint, you might want to start with total market size compared to previous years & Gillette's share of it
Have you been smoking weed?
Double points if you say that the Nazis were socialistsAhh there we go, the holy trinity of cliches is complete- "virtue signalling", "woke" and "the left"
Declining industry size, lower prices, increased competition, significant currency devaluation.. however brand awareness through the roof via that ad which also held sales up, and as a result the writedown had no effect on share price which went up to its highest ever directly after the announcement. In other words zero negative impact of the ad whatsoever, which actually helped to offset the other industry factors. The only people who see a problem appear to be people such as your good self, frothing away about "virtue signalling from the woke left", but in turn that just raised focus on the brand so either way they win. Does say a lot about you that you took such huge offence to the message, but then it does fit with the person you seem to be.
Their sales dropped, none of what you say makes any sense. People didn't just suddenly stop shaving after their adverts, it has been a gradual decline. So if that is the reason, why did their sales take such a sudden nose dive during this downward trend? Perhaps it was a certain advertising campaign?
You aren't making any sense at all, and you can see the desperation in your post by the fact you have to try and get personal about it. Mind you, I would be clutching at straws if I had come out and tried to make out that their sales had risen.
