I went back to Oliver Eagleton's book, Starmer only got his Bachelor of Law in 1985, assuming it was summer 85, the strike ended months beforehand. He could certainly represent striking miners pro bono if he wasn't a qualified practising solicitor.

Bit weird America don't hold these values anywhere else ? Is it because China makes everything they own and sell 🤔 and they could basically bankrupt the USA

That's the position of most of the world.

Basically China won't do business with anybody who recognises Taiwan politically, and considering almost every country would grind to a halt without China, its not hard to see why they hold the stance they do ..

It's quite easy infact

People think new = different. She (and the Tories) will get a short term bounce in the polls and she'll soon fall behind once she starts opening her mouth and people realise she's just as bad as Boris without the funny hair and shit banter.

it's also only one of many polls

they'll have a bounce then fade back again

This could go in either this thread or the war thread... but fucking hell Jeremy.

The blokes a dangerous idiot and that type of interview is exactly why a lot of the country could never have voted for him whatever the alternative was.

He talks as if Russia is also an injured party and various people haven’t tried to negotiate with Putin ?! Also no mention of the war crimes and the rape and killing of civilians.

Really? You can't honestly think that's perfectly fine yet think Starmer is unelectable because he said some things about strikes.
Stop deflecting and answer the question. There must be something in the 2 minute clip you found offensive, or are you just piling on the centrist dad outrage because it’s happening on Twitter.
I have my own opinions on what he has said in the clip which I’ll share but let’s hear what you actually think.

Dangerous idiot for making the point that weapons do not promote peace and just prolong war.

How is it deflecting? You think Starmer is unelectable for whatever reasons yet are seemingly fine with what Corbyn says there.

The whole clip is a shambles from start to finish.

Firstly he's appearing on a pro Russian channel that parrots Russian propaganda. (plus it's pro Assad and pro Hezbollah).

Then he says Ukrainian citizens and Russian soldiers are comparable.

No mention of Ukrainian soldiers.

Says we should not arm Ukraine.

Says the only way to resolve it is sit down for peace talks.

Says Africa has no economical interests in Russia or Ukraine.

It's fucking awful from start to finish. I don't know how anyone could defend that and then say Starmer is unelectable.

How much of the above is based on what you know rather than just extrapolating the tweet?

Firstly I never said I defended it, you just assume that.

The clip is 2 mins long, but I assume it was longer…..interestingly whatever question he was asked has been cut out
He didn’t compare Ukraine citizens with Russian soldiers he said ‘young conscripted Russians soldiers’ I guess his implication here is against their choice but I agree that it’s a comparison that shouldn’t have been made.
Africa has no economic gain from war, but does gain from peace in terms of food supply.
In terms of peace - what do you propose then, because we’re 8 months in - no closer to a solution and everyone appears to have stopped caring.
