I do, and as you can gather I’m pretty unimpressed by the way the boxholders are whining and trying to railroad the club into getting what they want as opposed to the club putting it right. It’s possible to be critical of more than one thing at once, it’s not binary.
Lol as a professional buyer if somebody came to me and told me they were increasing the price for their service 3 fold in order to align to competitors in the market I'd tell them to get fucked

Wouldn't be that great a relationship if they trebled the prices at short notice!so if they did that, making all suppliers equally priced, you’d move away from the incumbent supplier to a new one even if you had a good relationship with them?

Many clubs offer discounts for renewing for the following season and the club hasn't even offered that.
They absolutely would - if I said to one of our customers we’ve hiked a price up 300% as they’ve been getting it cheap I’d be told where to go
But we have people saying “it’s completely irrelevant what other clubs are doing”, yet now you’re complaining that we don’t do what other clubs do. Hypocritical again- it’s ok to mirror what other clubs do if it’s in your favour, not so good if it’s not.
People comparing their own line of work to this is absolutely ridiculous, this isn't a common commodity.
This is such a unique 'product' to sell that all they really have to go off is current market rates and historic demand. I actually do agree, despite my anecdotal contributions to the thread, that these prices, as well as the significant hike, is perhaps short sighted from the club. But I see both sides of the argument. In that case benchmarking competitors is

How many are there?reliably informed a grand total of 5 boxes sold. Almost a week since prices announced and all parties on the waiting list been emailed.
not sure on exact number but around 35 -40 including both levelsHow many are there?

Okay so if the club sells 13 boxes that would bring in a similar amount revenue to selling 35 at £9K each.
Wouldn't a large majority of those 30 box holders buy some form of season ticket?not really as drinks are extra cost and it will on economy of scale be better to cater for more

Oh yeah that's a great business strategy, piss off a load of customers for zero gainOkay so if the club sells 13 boxes that would bring in a similar amount revenue to selling 35 at £9K each.

In what way is having 22 spare boxes you can sell zero gain?
So 14 boxes at the old price. Not a bad start tbh in a week. Only need to sell 8 more to make the same money as last year.reliably informed a grand total of 5 boxes sold. Almost a week since prices announced and all parties on the waiting list been emailed.

Wait til the 'union' find out who has crossed the picket line there will be uproar...Zero gain, behave. Even if the club sell 25 boxes that will be an additional revenue of £300,000.
Of course, as Grendel states there are additional things to consider, but purely on the basis of the boxes and the revenue from purchase of the boxes it would eclipse last year.
Long way to go of course, nothing to state that all or anymore boxes would be sold, but then some people have stated boxes wouldn't be sold at all....

Sell another 8 and they matched last years revenue already. 35 boxes @ 9000 = £315000, 13 boxes @ 25000 = £325000. Are you seriously suggesting we wont sell another 8 boxes at least? BehaveI mean given they've only sold five I very much doubt they'll reach that figure.

I'm sure there will be a huge clamour for them on an ad-hoc basis
Also, no one stated the club wouldn't sell any boxes.
It's really not incorrect to assume that at all. The majority on the waiting list will likely follow suit and not bother because the premise upon which they joined said list was that the boxes would be roughly in or around the previous price.
Does it matter? They could sell them for £1 and be up from last year.
Just like the ST prices it’s very simple maths: if we get more revenue this year from the same number of people Doug is right. Otherwise he’s not.
