Another thing I'd missed is the boxes are also only on sale to existing holders until the 3rd of July so the only boxes currently sold will be repurchases.
Happy to stand corrected.Emotional? How? It hasn’t impacted me.it’s impacted people I know and these people put money in, sponsored players, games, kits etc… only for them for be told put more money in or we don’t want you anymore. how’s that self interest?
Not really. they are taking bookings from the waiting list so the 5 includes the waiting listInteresting.
Happy to stand corrected.
Do your friends think the club would be better to continue to have a non competitive playing budget ?
Did it not occur to them that at some point it was likely that the club would stop them securing a box for 1/3rd of the going rate ?
Wouldn't be able to call that a sold box though in my view will see if they release those figures at some point. Not really. they are taking bookings from the waiting list
This is what I don't really understand about his decision making. Fair enough if he had better calibre of corporate partners lined up to fill the boxes but he quite clearly doesn't.
Why then try to alienate his existing customer base when quite clearly he's relying on them to renew for the forthcoming season.
It's incredibly bizarre and I'm just not entirely sure what his expectation was...
Lol are you being serious. they are taking bookings with a 50% deposit. If you work in hospitality you would know that’s a saleWouldn't be able to call that a sold box though in my view will see if they release those figures at some point.

I don't work in hospitality what I was more thinking was would you shout about having any replacements and risk alienating your current customers even more? Like sod off we don't need you?Lol are you being serious. they are taking bookings with a 50% deposit. If you work in hospitality you would know that’s a sale

1) the max the club can make is an extra 500k which in the grand scheme of things won’t make much difference to the ‘competitive’ playing budget.
2) as stated above. Everyone was expecting a price increase. most expecting to pay between 14k-17k which would have been acceptable.
3) the executive boxes are anything but executive. Hotel room with a table in the middle. Even king admitted it’s not that appealing compared to other clubs
I know he said that but would he push it as far as I'm pre selling your boxes from under you?king said in his interview that the waiting list is massive so he believes the uptake is there but that waiting list was based on the old prices.
That’s fair GIMOC, except the part where they wish to pay half to two thirds of the going rate.3 points

In the other thread someone (you?) was arguing corporate brought in a huge amount of money and so customers needs to be looked after! Now it’s peanuts and doesn’t really add to the budget.
All the big companies would ask for a discount Id think. I’ll agree though I don’t think it would interest them although JLR are currently looking for novel ways to offer staff perks. The funny thing is if the likes of JLR and Aston Martin were approached they’d demand a discount - in reality they’d never be interested anyway

Pay for Hamers increase easily if it came off.Pricing in a few boxes isn’t really adding to the paying budget
But we have a 5 year plan?
And what does he consider competitive?
We dont have a lot of room to improve next year without actally getting promoted.

He'd still come out saying it's just in case and he prefers current box holders to stay I bet. Otherwise it would be shite PR.well many on the waiting list were already in the boxes so that email was leaked immediately when it was sent out.
Do you mean sponsorship or ticket discounts?Like they did with wasps?
You literally said if extra revenue is £1 he’s right
So if those revenues come at a greater cost per £1 spent?
If dissatisfied customers walk away and don’t come back?
If any who take this don’t renew?
If having raked in the £25 grand from a few he then has to discount to attract anyone else alienating further the loyal customers now lapsed and also the few who now see themselves ripped off at an inflated price?
I actually assumed he had some businesses lined up to pay this price so I guess I saw some merit if it’s ruthless profiteering . Big businesses are like any other - they budget marketing spend over a period. So are they now running around trying to get some people interested.
Match by match will require logistical planning for catering etc.
Funnily enough I’m sure you pricing theory previously suggested you shouldn’t price against other teams but other events in the area?
it’s supposed to be a 5 year plan so wouldn’t there have been an argument to sign up existing clients on a 3 year package first? The revenue impact actually would be marginal, customers are on board and have a realistic choice.
“if we don’t we can look at pricing” which actually means it’s failed. Premium product discounted like a used car to get punters in as no thought applied to start with and then I assume a reduction to those who’ve forked out so admitting “we ripped you off lads but please come back next year”
Pay for Hamers increase easily if it came off.
Well yeah and if we wait three years to start it it’ll be an eight year plan.
So we should just stop trying to increase revenue after that? We could potentially get 3 or 4 players on the type of salary Hamer wants with all the potential increases. The play off final done that for the club
I'd imagine profit would be around 50% could be wrong but it's the mark I'd be aiming for.It wouldn’t as it’s not all incremental profit - there’s added costs
What will happen is they try and do individual deals and horse trade on pricing and no one will know what has been sold and what price
Im guessing you’ve never been involved in pricing discussions at a business from this post.
Do you think the club should just give up trying to increase income unless it’s an increase of millions? It's pretty much impossible for us to improve next season without actually getting promoted.
I'm not sure what difference a couple of 100k is going to make?
