Remember if Doug makes one more pound revenue on this he’s got it right

You’re point about not putting a 300% increase on loyal fans doesn’t make a lot of sense either if that’s what you’re referring to.Read my previous posts and you'll see what I think.

You do this tactic all the time. Not sure if it has a term but kind of applying the extreme opposite logic. Sometimes it can be effective but somehow you always twist it to such an extent it doesn’t work then just keep making different points every time anyone responds, so I won’t.Well then as season tickets are selling quickly they should have surely charged £100 each more
Now I assume we should double F and B prices, charge £7 for a programme - I mean it’s the fans who need to pay for the budget
It depends on your point of view, if you don't give a fuck about loyalty and upsetting sections of your fanbase then no, it doesn't.
They certainly need a decent marketing team to revamp the photos and webpage. Also as someone keeps pointing out the rooms are rubbish. I’ve had meetings there years ago it’s really not premium

I don't want us to be that type of club to be honest.
And it's not as if for us the trade off will be leagues and European football.
again, it’s an opinion. I believe if sisu were still here the response would have been completely different. King is playing a good PR game but what matters most is what happens with players coming in over the summer, players potentially leaving and what happens on the pitch.
but taking bookings already. This is the email the shortlist received
It's pretty much impossible for us to improve next season without actually getting promoted.
I'm not sure what difference a couple of 100k is going to make?
says there is a waiting list there, does that mean there actually are loads wanting to get one, or have I got it wrong.. or is it a marketing ploy
lol - based on old prices. let’s how many take up a box with the new prices
So after all these years of highlighting that we have no money, we are now saying we shouldn’t actually bother trying to get more money in. You couldn’t make it up
Proof is in the pudding this summerexactly that. with the talk of wanting to compete in the top 6, with prices going up it adds extra pressure on mark and Adi. fans are fickle, he’s still in the honeymoon period thanks to the playoffs etc…
Can you point out where I've said that?
I'll save you the time as I clearly haven't.
All I've said is let's not rinse certain sections with a 300 percent rise in one hit, its really quite simple.
I've paid the rise on my ST without complaint as has everyone else.
You said “I'm not sure what difference a couple of 100k is going to make?”
I know where you’re coming on your point, but saying that a few hundred grand is irrelevant to us is one of the most stupid things anyone has said on this whole topic.
He’s coming out making a big song and dance about paying for updates and the training ground etcTo improve us from last season it won't make a huge amount of difference yet it can, and appears to be, causing quite a bit of ill feeling.
Given the atmosphere around the club and the bond between the club and the fans, is that worth jeopardising it for? I personally wouldn't say so, especially when we've got at least one large transfer fee coming in which could support delaying the increase a season.
How has it been jeopardised? You have a few people moaning about boxes on here and on social media. Bit over dramatic to be honest. To improve us from last season it won't make a huge amount of difference yet it can, and appears to be, causing quite a bit of ill feeling.

guess what Doug? You own the football club
fans have done their bit going to be 16/17k season ticket holders
back the manager and you’ll have my support, don’t and you won’t, I don’t really care about anything else
Football teams are judged on results
No he’s not completely responsible if at allso King is now responsible for results as well?

it’s unbelievable that after all this time with no money people are now saying “actually we don’t need it, wouldn’t make any difference”
have you seen the teams coming down? We will need every penny to have a cat in hells chance
I think you're massively overestimating how many people will give a sh*t if a few boxes are empty at the start of the season, or that those people who do buy a box have had to pay a lot more.To improve us from last season it won't make a huge amount of difference yet it can, and appears to be, causing quite a bit of ill feeling.

Fair enough. I'm wading in on this like it matters to me, when all that affects me directly is what hasn't been announced (match day prices)!I'm not overestimating anything, I've said in a subsequent post it's box holders and a few others that are bothered.
But there have also been gripes regarding the kids pricing away from the FZ and the SC discount age being increased.
He's needs to be careful how he goes about things and makes sure he brings people along, apart from the kid ticket rise I don't actually think he's done anything wrong apart from how he's gone about it.
I never said it had been jeopardised, just there was a risk it could be.
And it's not a few people on social media, it's a large number.ber of box holders and a few of us who actually have some empathy for other supporters when we feel they've been harshly treated.
I want us to have a large as budget as possible, but not at any cost, not the sort of club I want.
You do realise this is Ring of Steels latest identity?
Can't argue that the Sunderland box is much better value. I've done boxes a few times through work, our offering seems really poor compared to what I've been to (which admittedly have been mostly premier league). Also as someone keeps pointing out the rooms are rubbish. But you can find the price point the other way too. If you charge too much and not all the boxes sell, then next year you adjust the price down until you hit the sweet spot of being able to sell the boxes without having a waiting list. If charging the larger amount generates more income in the intervening years than staggering upwards at lower prices then going high is the better strategy financially. How is it box holders 'taking the piss' when those were the prices set by the club? Please explain?
It's not entitlement either, staggering the prices over 2-3 seasons allows the club to try to find their ideal price point, as well as provide them sufficient time to nurture relationships with larger SMEs in the region. It's clear all they've done is align themselves to what other clubs are paying, without actually doing their due diligence in the first instance.
Not the case whatsoever. Every Coventry box holder I know personally wants the absolute best for the club, but equally they want to be treated fairly.
But this is corporate. It's not about 'loyal fans' - it's about businesses looking to entertain/impress stakeholders. It's a business proposition. But the majority of box holders aren't railroading the club. Many simply can't afford it and due to the club's poor handling of the situation have been left with few suitable alternatives with regards to seating arrangements.
Regardless of what they were paying for boxes their anger is entirely justified. Many, including myself, have supported throughout our entire journey from L2 through to present day and they've been cast aside completely without a second thought or even the decency of prior notice.
Many clubs offer discounts for renewing for the following season and the club hasn't even offered that.

I'm not saying they will, but let's say the club sell all the boxes. Then that would suggest that in fact the price is correct, or even too low to what they could achieve, and staggering the price increase would in fact be a terrible decision. At this time no-one knows, but Doug has made that choice and will have to live or die by it.
As we've supposedly got a waiting list for boxes it does suggest that they have been priced far too low and there is significant missed revenue there. Whether that's 300% worth of missed revenue time will tell.
