Are we after signatures amoung a handful who think the wording is incorrect?
Or are we after signatures amoung all football fans who believe that the game is losing touch with fans using Coventry as an example?
Ashdown - Equally, no amount of shouting SISUE OUT or Joyless Septic has convinced me either.
It is likely they want their money back. What's the most likely situation for that to occur?
More shouting at them or giving them something to sell?
Also, i'd like to add here, that no-one thought they'd be mad enough to take us from Coventry to another town. I suppose in that vein, no-one thinks they'd be mad enough to build a new stadium?
The Governece of the game bares down to a lot more than just Coventry City Football Club..
By way of response, Football League Chairman Greg Clarke, in evidence to the DCMS Select Committee’s follow up report (January 2013), commented that while he agreed in principle that supporters should know who owned their club, many
owners wanted to protect themselves from a minority of fans who may put pressure on them to spend more money on the club.
..in 2013 the DCMS Select committee's view was ‘We remain unconvinced that the ultimate owners of football clubs—which are not ordinary businesses and operate for the enjoyment and benefit of their local communities and fans— require their anonymity to be preserved either from or by the football authorities.’
DCMS, Select Committee, Fourth Report, Football Governance Follow-Up, 2013
We are after as many signatures as possible, we can't be picky.
The petition is ostensibly about governance of the game.
Personally I think it would have been more powerful to have got together with other fan organisations, particularly Hull, Cardiff, Leeds, Blackburn, Bolton, Portsmouth & others who're currently or have recently suffered at the hands of their owners and aimed the words squarely at the government and their pathetic lack of action, avoiding too much emphasis on specific cases such as ours. But the die is cast and we should push on with what we've got, there is a long way to go, nothing like this can be done overnight.
The DCMS enquiry has produced several reports but subsequently nothing has happened, for instance look at this FL attitude.. are you happy with that?
I think I put something in the first thread about the petition but didn't hear anything. Oh well. It wasn't the first time.
quote of the F'ING thread!!! Bravo sir!
That in itself Edgy is why a part of me believes there may be a new Stadium if the Ricoh cannot be purchased.
Fair enough Nick - maybe give it another blast (via pm perhaps) as the wording is under discussion. Most people I have contacted pretty much get that is isn't just about Cov, but governance of the game. They haven't been too conerned about the wording in regard to who's fault it is. But if its something for the locals (I don't have an ear to the ground on that) that is stopping signatures then another comms push - short, sweet and with clarity may be worth looking into. It is early days so would still keep it all in a postive light. Get that draft text sorted!
Where did I mention Sisu???
I agree though that there due dilligance should have been better.
Edgy - Just saw you posted the question "if not, why not?" thanks!
Just been flicking through, it appears that most have said they have signed it with a handful claiming it is anti-sisu! (so why did Nick suggest that they were against it?)
No no no. That thread on GMK (and this one originally!!) is purely about the latest email from KCIC. not the petition.

Based on comments I have personally recieved that is them saying it.
So realistically what are the people on GMK doing to get us back home?
I think some (GMK) are so anti-council they wont stand for anything remotely anti-sisu. LIke I said, they would rather save face.
I did manage to find other threads .......
I haven't suggested anything.
You said this:
It is amazing the shit some people read / make up on here.
So maybe if it was more neutral more people would sign?
I think I put something in the first thread about the petition but didn't hear anything. Oh well. It wasn't the first time.
Agree you didn't mention SISU, but you did say that the council have sponged off the club, and after a bit of consideration you seemed to think it was with regard to the land deal.
I wondered if you could point out where?
So they should be read and addressed. Hopefully if you are back on you can set them straight.
Negatives should always been listened to (constructive ones) rather than brushed aside with the generic "well what are you doing" response.
I haven't suggested anything.

I have never been on, so cant be back on. I tried to log in with an account I created a while ago.
Should be read and addressed? With regards to ........
This would have been a hugely powerful message if we could have got 15+ members of the Football League on side with us originally even if the case study is CCFC's situation.
Of course I am nothappy with the FL's attitude but for many years now they have turned their backs on the most important aspect of the game, the fans.
Alright I apologise, I made a mistake. It wasn't you that started it, it was Houdi who made comments about the GMK lot and I responded when you said:
Selective quoting is a bit pathetic though.
So maybe a few malcontents on GMK won't sign, but you will never please everyone. Whilst everyone is entitled to their viewpoint, it beyond any reasonable doubt that the vast majority of fans do mainly blame SISU for this current shambles. Their is no 50/50 split on this, the clear majority do hold SISU to blame. The arguments have been done to death, and I expect everybody has by now made up their mind, a vociferous minority will not change the minds of the overwhelming majority of fans. The tail should not wag the dog. The only reason their is no real anti ACL/Council protests is their is simply very little support for it, and no amount of continuing pleading will change that fact.
Your not exempt either Mr Admin
What have I made up? Happy to be wrong
With regards to making the negatives a positive? You find out why people won't and then address it so they do (or at least try within reason).
It isn't hard is it? Or is it easier to just ask how big their petition or what are they doing?
If I ever do get a chance to log on I will ask. However I dont think wording needs to be changed in order to satisfy a handful.
I got a little emotional (not the crying baby kind!) earlier so started spouting off. I assumed that the GMK lot were putting the whole thing down after comments were made, so I apologise for that. Its not about "who's got the biggest petition or bla bla" it is just annoying when a lot of people have and are putting a lot of effort in to this to hear some people sit on a forum and make comments about it.
If people honestly put as much effort in to getting the numbers up, as they do spouting crap on here (me included today) then we wouldn't be having this argument would we?
Is that how today's generation refer to it? Dirty kids..

I can understand if people post "your petition is shit" or blatent trolling but when they put ideas or give feedback that might not be "amazing, amazing let me make love to you (exagerated)" the old lines get spun.
You said you knew what GMK were saying as people had told you personally?
People are giving comments about it, on a forum. I haven't once put the thing down, I have said how there might be ways to get more people to sign.
The whole "if you dont like it then dont sign it" thing frankly puts people off, reminds me of the trust back in the day if anybody said anything against them.

You've made up nothing, but the English Language is beautiful, we do not need to get our point across with the use of profanities..

Just here
"As the football club did not have the money to complete the purchase of the land, which would then enable them to sell off half of it to Tesco, it was agreed that Coventry City Council would purchase the land, then conclude the deal with Tesco, all as part of their joint venture agreement.
But mysteriously, once the purchase of the land and the sale to Tesco had been completed, Coventry City Council informed the football club that they were unable to share with them the profit from the sale of the land due to ‘state aid’ implications.
Instead, they offered Coventry City FC a 50 per cent share in the company that would operate the Ricoh Arena, but they, Coventry City Council would own all the equity in the property."
Yes we have had comments from people with regards to all latest KCIC stuff from sixfields attendees and GMK users. If they dont agree with things that is their choice.
What you fail to understand is that this petition is using Coventry as an example, but is aimed at governance of football as a whole. Therefore wording was selected to intrigue ALL football fans. What is there not to understand about that?
The whole "if you dont like it then dont sign it" is bullshit. What was actually said was why is there a need to nit pick on wording?
Oh well - it was worth a try. Don't sign it then.
Quoted from this thread. Clearly bullshit.
I obviously fail to understand so I won't say anything. Never did get a reply when I asked about using this site to help promote it either.
Everything is nit picking or digging if it isn't back patting.
