I think the commentary comes from a studio in London. Ally Mcoist has commentated on loads of games, but is then in the studio for talksport breakfast.

Fair enough if that is the case

I thought I've heard commentators say 'it's great to be here etc) which I took to mean be in the stadium. Plus with one of the games where the sound was ahead of the play the commentators kept up which suggested they were at the stadium

I take it Jonathan Pearce and Jermaine Jenas won't be commentating on any more games at Wembley for a couple of weeks as they have to self isolate for 10 days after returning from Amsterdam?

Seriously, how does it work for coming to the UK from amber countries, do the footballers and anyone working as part of Euro 2020 get a free pass or something?

I hope so as Jermaine Jenas is shit and dull

Some are in the stadium, some aren't I suppose.

I know it’s cliche time, it will be like a cup match, Scotland need a point, Auld enemy, no easy games blah blah but…….

I think we fucking batter them tonight. Early morning optimistic prediction - 4-1 England!

Would really like to see a confident performance against Scotland today and expecting to win by a two goal margin!

For all their talk leading up to the game, we’ve got to put them in their place.

The last few games are throwing a spanner in the works for Germany. It’s looking likely they will need 4 points to qualify.

Heavy ran forecast over Wembley today.

Wonder if that will help the Scots out. Who's tactics must be to try and play rough and try and hit us on the counter.

If this was anybody but Scotland we’d be pretty confident of a win. They’ve not been in a tournament for a quarter of a century, only snuck through the playoffs on penalties and we’re humbled by the Czechs at home. You can never call a derby game though and some of their players will put in the shift of a lifetime.

I hope we don’t get sucked into their battle, let our quality shine though, an early goal would open things right up for us as they’ll need to chase us so let’s start the same way we did against Croatia.

I’m fucking buzzed.

A slicker surface will suit us more they won’t live with our passing game today,Rice & Phillips will dominate and control it for us

I think he starts the same again and sees how the game progresses. If it's tight and we need someone to draw fouls and create space then Grealish comes in but if we're winning and want to stretch things Sancho will come on.

Although I think he will start with the same 11 I would, personally, consider dropping Trippier (although he had a good game on Sunday) and bring in Chilwell or Shaw just to give us some natural width on the left as Mings won’t need protecting that much.

I wouldn't be against that, who do Scotland play on the right? Having an inverted fullback isn't that unusual these days as they're so often used to counter inverted wingers so if the Scots have one then I can see the benefit of keeping him in for set pieces.

I have a feeling Maguire might come in

Just setting off for Wembley, cmon England.
Would like to see Grealish play a big part today as he will win loads of free kicks from the cloggers.
Pretty confident of a win today, only hope Southgate does nt play too defensive and settles for 1-0 or a draw.
Southgates mentally is just get what we need, no risks no matter what calibre of opposition we play.

First game they played Stephen O’Donnell as RWB. If they go with a 352 again then we have to play a left footer at LB and overload the wide areas.

I'd go with that or Shaw as Scotland will either player O'Donnell who is a weak point or Forrest who is more of a winger at RWB so they can be got at there.

I’d go with that. Walker had a pretty rough game overall against Croatia.

Walker for all his his pace and strength isn't the greatest on the ball.

Be interesting if Tierney plays as then Scotland will basically have 2 overlapping left backs

Kane
Grealish mount sterling
Rice Phillips
Shaw Mings stones James
Pickford

Just listening to someone on you tube who thinks this is the leaked team

He just doesn’t seem to be able to stay fit. If he does play, I suppose Phillips will cover over that side when needed.
Bang up for this though! Even if it is on at 3am over here!

The Athletic say 2 changes - James and Shaw in

Why James? Seems like we may line up with 3 centre backs as I’d be surprised if we rotated both Trippier and Walker.

Personally, I’d stick with the same team and put Shaw in for Walker. Get the win against Scotland, and then rotate attacking options and get Maguire and Henderson match fitness against Czechia.
