He makes me switch off Question of Sport, he is the sporting version of Miranda Hart.

Cricket at the Ricoh Arena, now that would be a novelty.

Does anyone still watch that?

He's great on TMS i.m afraid - this is a roots and all footie site so not expecting many cricket fans - QOS is indeed nauseating but this boy can tell a good story !

Well he has been in a few.

Frustrating cricketer. So much ability but only rarely switched it on. vs Australia at the Oval in 1997 he was brilliant, but he was dropped as soon as he stopped performing. If he'd played in an era of consistent selection rather than shotgun selection policy, he'd have done better IMO. Then again he didn't help himself with some of his off-field antics especially in the earlier part of his career.

Aussie fans to Tufnell in an ashes test at Melbourne- “Oi, Tufnell! Can I borrow your brain? I’m building an idiot.”
I preferred the one where Shane Warne was trying to bait Daryl Cullinan of South Africa, who to be fair was a bit of a bunny of his
"Hey Daryl, I've been waiting two years for a chance to bowl you out again!"
"Cheers Shane, looks like you spent those two years eating..."

or when Warney was bowling to the porky Zimbo bowler Eddo Brandes;
"Hey Eddo, why are you so fat, man?"
"Because, every tiem I shag your wife, she gives me a biscuit!"

or when Mark Waugh tried to mock England tailender and occasional England selection James Ormond:"
"Ormond, what are you doing here, there's no way you're good enough to play Test cricket!"
"Maybe not but at least I'm the best cricketer in my family"

When I watch Tuffnell on telly it always reminds me of Australia’s at the time wicket-keeper Rodney Marsh who asked Tuffers when he was at the crease if he’d lend him his brain as he was building himself an idiot.

Cheecky chappy friendly guy when he's not beating up the mothers of his children.
